About this product
Older dogs or those with joint concerns often struggle to jump into cars, making safe entry a daily challenge. The Pet Gear Trifold Travel Dog Ramp provides easy access without strain, featuring skid-resistant tread that grips even when wet. Suitable for dogs up to 80kg, rubber grippers keep it stable, and hooks attach to your car boot. The trifold design folds to minimise storage space and includes a carry handle for easy transport.
The 177.8cm length when unfolded provides a gradual incline that reduces strain on hips and joints compared to jumping. Skid-resistant surface works in all weather conditions, which matters during rainy walks or muddy outings. The rubber grippers prevent the base from sliding on different surfaces to keep things secure during entry and exit. Hooks attach to your boot to stop movement while they climb, so nervous dogs can take their time without wobbling.

Customers Say
Sturdy, well-made dog ramp suitable for elderly or arthritic dogs, but the sandpaper surface is harsh on paws and some dogs refuse to use it. Narrow width and lack of handle make it cumbersome for larger dogs and users.

Does the job
Sturdy ramp, folds out quite long and doesn’t slip. The top is sandpapery so it took my dog a while to want to walk on it.

Strong
Unfortunately my dog dare not use it. No amount of treats lining the way will entise her on

Great for medium dogs, narrow for large breed
Bought this for my Rhodesian ridgeback who is older, it holds his weight (57kg) no problem, but is too narrow, we have to guide our dog and support from both sides not to step down from the ramp. The grip is absolutely perfect on it, we used under rain and it works well. If it was 20cm wider, would be perfect.

Good size but terrible surface
Bought this in December 2023, our dog hates ramps, so we bought this hoping it would give her confidence in getting into the car, unfortunately, the surface is like sandpaper she hates her pads scrapping on the ramp. So we have had to buy another one which has carpet on the ramp. I would not recommend this product for the surface and weight of the ramp, if you are not strong or ambidextrous then look elsewhere. This product needs a redesign.

Showing signs of wear after a week
Very disappointed to see a cut on the walkway after it has been used less than 10 times. It does not afford the grip I expected

Great idea - needs little improvement
Bought for our elderly dog to take vets etc. She hates the sand paper under foot and makes her slide, we have to put towel down to help. We also have to stand each side of her as she rolls off the side due to being steep.

The Ramp
Bought this for the dog as she has injured her back leg, she absolutely hates it, i don't know if it's because of the give in it or the feel of the 'non-slip' stuff (that scratches and marks up easily), she does not want to use it at all. Any suggestions??

Sturdy ramp
I bought this a month ago and have spent numerous attempts at training the dog to walk up and down. Still not there yet because our dog is very nervous of funny textured floors. Ramp is sturdy and well made. Tricky to unfold with one hand so would recommend use of a dog cage to retain dog whilst unfolding

Just the dab
I bought this as our older labrador has developed arthritis. This makes his life much easier. It fits in the car boot fine and is very light to handle.

Hello TracyH,
I can advise the following for the Pet Gear Trifold Travel Dog Ramp:
You will need to confirm this with the rail operator that you are using. Most do have ramps for the disability entrances on the carriage, may be worth asking for that support.
Thanks for using Q & A.
Hello Nerys.
Pet Gear Trifold Travel Dog Ramp:
This hooks to attach to the boot of your car. Then just unhook, fold and store in the boot when not in use.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Bongo,
The supplier has advised the following for the Pet Gear Trifold Travel Dog Ramp:
“ The ramps are designed for vehicles and not for any other use. ”
Thanks for using Q&A.
Yes, it should work for that. He’s light, so not likely to move it around, but you could attach it either at the top or have something at the bottom so it doesn’t slide. The only concern I would have would be the angle that it’s at, but you could always overcome that it it’s going to be set up at home.
Hi Bea,
The weight capacity is 80kg.
Thanks for using Q&A!
Hi,
I can confirm this would work however it may not be very stable/suited for this use.
I hope this helps
Thanks for using Q&A
Possibly but it’s probably too long and you would have to hold it as you can’t hook it on the bed to stabilise it unless you could support it from the bottom . If you have a small dog I would say it’s much too big for a bedroom . We tried it for a golden retriever in car, (He refused point blank to use it unfortunately!) it is very thick & chunky so would support his weight, it is good for large heavy dogs .
Hello ElkieFan,

Hi there,
The frame on this ramp is made from plastic and is suitable for dogs weighing up to 80Kg.
Thanks for using Argos Q&A
Plastic.
It’s very heavy. Would it be wedged into place? Am not sure the purple grip would survive very long, its only glued into place
Hi Stella
The Pet Gear Trifold Travel Dog Ramp is made from materials which can withstand showers but it is not intended to be left outside permanently.
Your tiny little rescue will grow though so will be able to jump further in time.
