About this product
The Vax Dual Power Pet Advance is designed for homes with pets where carpets and upholstery need regular deep cleaning. It tackles embedded dirt and refreshes fibres while neutralising lingering pet odours, so your rooms feel properly fresh rather than just surface clean. At 800 air watts, it's got enough power to lift out the grime, and the rotating brush bar works the cleaning solution right into the carpet pile before extracting it along with the dirt.
The 2.7l clean water tank gives a good run before refilling, and the 1.5l dirty water tank shows what's been extracted. The 2.4m stretch hose and upholstery wash tool reach stairs, sofas and car seats without moving the machine. A pre-treatment wand and solution tackle stubborn spots before cleaning. The 8m power cord covers a wide area without switching sockets. Weighing 6.4kg, it has a carry handle for moving between floors and includes a storage bag, plus 250ml ultra pet solution and 250ml pre-treatment. Works on carpets and upholstery.

Vax carpet cleaner works well for a small machine
Bought this a few days ago. Just cleaned our living room, stairs and landing. Did a very good job for a small machine. Carpets were dry in 3 hours.

Not a good buy
I purchased this a few weeks ago and have attempted to use it twice, but it keeps tripping my electricity. I reached out to Argos this morning and will be returning it. A section of my carpet remains damp because I can't use the vacuum to remove the water. I regret not reading the reviews beforehand; had I done so, I would have noticed that others experienced similar issues and would have refrained from buying it.

Great value carpet shampooer
Bought recently to replace an old Vax model that was no longer working. I only wanted a small(ish) model as my rooms are not very big. First use was the living room, about 15 x 15 feet. I did this in less than twenty minutes and I am glad you cannot see the colour of the contents of the dirty water tank! It also used a fraction of the shampoo that the old machine used to use. I next started on the stairs. The stair/upholstery attachment of the old machine didn't work very well but this one is excellent. The stair carpet hasn''t been this clean for years. This new machine is much lighter and smaller than the old one and is easy to carry from room to room. I should add that I have four cats and this new shampooer picked up all the fur that the (very expensive) vacuum cleaner leaves behind. All in all I am very pleased with my purchase and I consider it ot be excellent value for money.

Overall I would recommend.
I bought this a month ago and have used it several times. It freshens the carpet nicely and cleaned up some stains from my pets (I has manually cleaned up as much also). It left the carpet smelling great. It has struggled with some older stains but I have yet to use the pre-treatment with it, so feel this will make a real difference. I did hoover the carpets previously but still found it taking in a lot of hair, which I had to use a skewer to clean inside. It held a good amount of dirty water and hair, etc. which was easy to remove, put down the toilet and then clean the vessel out again. Overall I would recommend.

Hello Pug,
The supplier has advised for the Vax Dual Power Pet Advance Upright Carpet Cleaner: The Dual Power Pet Advance comes with an accessory hose and tools to assist with cleaning upholstery and stairs etc.
The hose can be connected to the floorhead at the hose inlet and tools attached to the hose itself. Press the trigger on the hose to release the water and let go when pulling back the tool to suck as much moisture as possible from the surface being cleaned.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Rodney,
Vax Dual Power Pet Advance Upright Carpet Cleaner
This is a carpet cleaner, not a standard vacuum cleaner.
It does suck up spills and is designed to refresh carpets and upholstery, but it's made for deep cleaning carpets and pet odours rather than everyday dry vacuuming.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Pudgie,
Vax Dual Power Pet Advance Upright Carpet Cleaner
'Dual Power' refers to the dual cleaning action: the vacuum suction and the rotating brush bars work together for a deeper clean.
Thanks for using Q&A
Hello Bert,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Vax Dual Power Pet Advance Upright Carpet Cleaner: The Vax Dual Power Pet Advance Upright Carpet Cleaner (ECR2V1P) operates in the 80-85 dB(A) range, which is typical for powerful, brush-driven carpet cleaners. While specific decibel figures are not always listed in the technical specifications, they are generally louder than standard vacuum cleaners, which usually range from 70 to 80 dB.
So slightly more noisy when on than other cleaners.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi Hansy

Hi, Kazzie
I can advise that the time it takes for the carpet to dry when using the Vax Dual Power Pet Advance Upright Carpet Cleaner will depend on how many times you use it in any given area, the ambient temperature and how well ventilated the room is.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Rose,
I can advise the following:
Cleaning the Vax Dual Power Pet Advance Upright Carpet Cleaner is straightforward. Upon using the carpet cleaner, debris may accumulate inside the dirty water tank. In order to keep your unit functioning properly and to prevent any odours building up, it is best to rinse out your dirty water tank with fresh water after each use.
Thanks for using Q & A.
Hello there,
