Great Job and handy to have with Pets or Children
Does just about the same job as the hire machines , one star off as the water tanks do need changing a lot more often than the pro machines

Bought this some weeks ago and so happy that I did. Excellent carpet cleaner and the carpets were dry within a few hours. I was considering replacing carpets so Iβm extremely happy that I decided on purchasing the rug doctor. Saved a lot of money and my carpets are looking and smelling lovely now!

Good carpet cleaner
I bought this a month ago after alot of consideration and reading reviews. I am not disappointed the power is first class and really extracts the dirt that has built up in your carpets over time. It heavy to maneuver I use the upholstery tool as I find this much easier. On reflection it perhaps would of been more beneficial for me to of purchased the smaller rug doctor. Having said that I am so happy I purchased this machine

Hello Leo,
The Rug Doctor Deep Upright Carpet Cleaner is suitable for carpets and upholstery only.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Shaz,
The supplier has advised the following for the Rug Doctor Deep Upright Carpet Cleaner:
"The upholstery attachment is 2.4 metres, the machine is quite heavy to hold whilst cleaning stairs you would leave it on the landing whilst cleaning the top stairs and move downstairs for the lower case. As for mattresses the customer would have to find out from the manufacturer if their specific mattress is suitable for water extraction cleaning machines as materials such as memory foam are not suitable for this type of cleaning."
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.

Hello john71,
This Rug Doctor Deep Upright Carpet Cleaner 814/1521 can be used on upholstery.

Thank you for using Q & A.
The cleaning action is made as you pull it backwards. You wheel it forwards to the position you want to start cleaning then press a lever and pull the machine backwards to clean the required area. You repat this as necessary, after a short while you get the hang of it.
Hi hmw,
It is not pushed forward like a vacuum cleaner. The machine is pulled back during the cleaning process. It is only pushed forward to start at the beginning of the next run to start a new backward cleaning pass.
Thanks for using Q&A,
Unless I'm doing it wrong, you just pull back. I recently watched The Gadget Show that reviewed too other carpet cleaners. Ones that you could push forward and pull backwards. Nether of them cleaned as well as this one does. Not as good as the ones I used to hired from the shop (same brand) but the hired ones are loads bigger.
Hi Kaz,
I have checked with Rug Doctor and they advise that this is fine to use with thick pile rug but not shag pile carpet.
Thanks for using Q&A,
Yes with hand held also machine dies etc collect clean
Hi Phil,
