Great for using as an external drive to run MAC OS
I purchased this SSD to help with my late 2012 IMAC as the harddisk was failing and I have used this SSD to run the OS catalina and it has done a great job. Would reccomend it for this purpose, from my experience in 2026

Reliable and fast
The Samsung T7 Portable SSD 1TB has been one of those things that just works exactly how you want it to. I primarily use it with the included USB-C cable (which feels like it’s built to a high standard, probably Thunderbolt 4 capable), and it also comes with a USB-A to USB-C cable, which is a nice touch for compatibility with older devices like my old MacBook and Windows PC. Where this drive really stands out is performance. In real-world use, I consistently see write speeds of around 1000MB/s on both my iPhone 15 Pro Max and MacBook Pro M1 Pro. Transferring large files, recording ProRes footage, or working with ProRes video feels effortless with no stutters. The build quality is solid too, compact, lightweight, and durable enough to trust when you’re carrying it around daily. I’ve dropped it a few times with no scratches yet and it works perfectly. It doesn’t overheat under normal use, even though it does get warm, and it just disappears into your workflow, which is exactly what good hardware should do. You don’t really have to worry about it once it’s plugged in, just work as normal as if it’s all internal. Overall, if you care about speed, portability, and reliability without too many gimmicks (Samsung encryption is nice actually) and Samsung Magician preloaded, it’s an easy 5-star product. Yes... it is compatible with an Apple iPhone 14 Pro. Not sure why Argos staff are saying its not compatible, any external storage is.

Yes, the SSD can be used as an external drive. You will need to connect the SSD to a pc and setup the SSD without password protection function. After you can connect the drive to the Xbox and reformat the SSD.
