not as good
I decided to buy another Delonghi coffee machine after my old one, which I had owned for may years, finally ceased to work. As I only wanted a basic coffee maker without any bells or whistles I was quite happy to pay £95 for this model; I was disappointed however as the new one only seems to deliver what is in effect one cup filter coffee. The pump is probably weaker than my previous model as there is no cremma on the coffee. I tried fitting the old coffee basket that had a very small hole in the bottom, unlike the new one where it had multiple holes, but the pump was not strong enough to force the coffee through and therefore did not produce the cremma finish. Furthermore the one scoop basket produces a very weak cup of coffee so I always use the two scoop basket. The basket is also quite hard to disengage.

If you want a long coffee, make your esspresso then top up with hot water. Dont run extra water through your grinds as this will overwork the coffee and make it bitter

A cheaper percolator can do the same.
