The Habitat Heavy Duty Detachable Bunk provides sleeping space for two without locking you into one setup. Made from solid pine with a grey painted finish, it stands up to daily life with kids. Thick safety rails and slats keep it sturdy, while its chunky frame handles active sleepers. Split it into two single beds as your family's needs change; both have the same height for a matching look. It includes two Habitat Kids Rae Comfort Open Coil Single Mattresses, so you're ready to go.
The mattresses have an open coil design with 192 springs for firm support, plus fibre filling for cushioning. They're foam and chemical free, with a soft anti-allergy cover that helps prevent dust mites, skin irritations, and allergies. The bunk bed must be attached to a wall for safety, especially with kids on the top bunk. The fixed ladder and top bunk suit ages six and over. Maximum user weight per bunk is 100kg, tested for adults. Headboards come pre-assembled with fitting holes and plugs. Self-assembly required; two people recommended. Covered by a two-year guarantee.
The bunk bed comes with 2 Habitat Kids Rae Comfort Open Coil Single Mattress. Ideal for growing children, the comfy kids mattress has an open coil design to provide firm support, while fibre filling adds a layer of cushioning. Strong and sturdy
The bed is sturdy and strong, the kids are comfortable and love it. The bed looks pretty safe for the little ones. Saved a lot of space in the bedroom, given I live in a rented place this bed doesn't require it to be mounted to the wall which was a big plus point. Only drawback was the bed panels took a very long time to assemble where the nails weren't easy to screw in.

I just wanted to leave a positive review on a set of beds I got for my two boys,it’s my second bed I’ve had from Argos now which has been made to a very high standard,it’s strong and I’ve never had a issue with the strength of beds I’ve had from Argos especially when my children are sleeping them I do recommend detachable beds from Argos so they can sleep in safety.

Solid and Durable Heavy Duty Bunk Bed.
I purchased the Habitat Heavy Duty Detachable bunk bed a few weeks ago in December and assembled it with my two young boys in just under two hours. The instruction manual was clear and easy to understand. My boys could even recognize the parts and figure out where everything went. The materials feel solid and durable, and the set arrives neatly packed in three boxes. The mattresses are surprisingly comfortable, and once assembled, the bed feels very secure, and as a parent, that gives me real peace of mind. High Quality and Easy to Assemble
We were very impressed with the quality of the beds. We have two sons who are now using the bunks and they will absolutely test the quality and longevity over time - so far the bunks have done well. Two people are needed only for adding the top bunk on, otherwise I did it solo. The instructions are detailed and if you have assembled flat pack before, it should be okay. The boxes were much smaller than I expected, so should be easier to store. I would suggest getting an Allen or hex screwdriver set, or one for an impact driver like I used - otherwise build time will be quite lengthy with the included Allen key!

The height of 68.5 cm is from the side rail to the top of the upper bed. The measurement from the slats where the mattress is placed to the top of the upper bed is 77.8 cm.

The external distance between the legs is 204 cm, but please note that the distance is greater than that at the top of the bed due to the top of the headboard and footboard being a touch wider. It measures 205.9 cm.

Having checked, no you cannot change the position of the steps/ladder to go on the left. The side rails have pre-drilled holes on them on the right hand side only.
