I bought this clock recently for my son I had bought one for myself at least 7years ago also from Argos .It has worked perfectly from day one and I wouldn’t be without it . My son needed a new one so didn’t hesitate to buy him one it is also great when you have a power cut the clock comes back on to the correct time as it has a battery back up .would recommend this clock to anyone it is brilliant

The projection should stay on permanently if you want it to, you should only be able to turn off by pressing the on/off projection button on the top of the clock."

You can adjust the zoom as preferred to make the projection larger or smaller or adjust so the projection is on the wall or ceiling.
