About this product
This large capacity 50 litre bin from Curver looks like metal but has the benefit of being made of resin, giving it a rust and dent free exterior that is easy to wipe clean and doesn't show fingerprints. The Mistral bin also has a unique integrated 'bag lock' feature - a mechanism that discretely holds the bag in place while hiding it at the same time, to give the bin a sleeker finish. It has a large opening lid for easy use and is removable for emptying.

Neat & smart looking.
Got this to replace my smaller kitchen bin. It's large, smart looking & tough enough to stop my Siamese cat from constantly tipping it over to rummage through it ! A great buy & good value for money !

A good bin for the price
As a family of 5 we need a bigger bin and this does the job. No fancy features to break. Heavily used during the Christmas/New Year holiday and works fine.

Doesn't get wet inside if kept outside.
Perfect for what I wanted - a flip top bin that can go outside and not fill with water. While it pools on the lid it doesn't get inside the bin. Disappointed though that while it has a keyhole for a mounting screw, you can't attach it directly to the wall as this prevents the lid from opening. A block of wood has to go in between.

Worth It
This is bigger than I thought it would be but it definitely does the job and it doesn’t look bad either.

Hi Beryl,
Thanks for your query about the Curver Mistral 50 Litre Lift Top Bin - Silver.
Having looked into this, I've been unable to locate any reference to a kid clip. Are you referring to the integrated 'bag lock' feature perhaps? If you do feel that you're missing parts and/or that the item is not functioning as it should, please contact our customer services team here: https://www.argos.co.uk/help/contact-us/...
Hi Sue, we can't see your images in your question but the way the bag lock feature works is you put your bin liner inside the bin and fold it over the bin rim. You then put the lid on top and push it down until it locks in place. You can release by pulling the front of the bin lid up.
I put my bin bag in as you have with the tops overlapping the edge and put the lid on and I push down on the front and it clips shut, holding the bag in place.
I hope this helps
You fold the bag over the top and put the lid on. Push the lid down and it locks. To release just pull the front of the lid up. I use 75 litre bags in the 50 litre bin. I'm about to buy another one because I like it
The bag lock feature is a rim which clips onto the top of the bin, over your bin liner, and locks it in place so it’s not on show.
Hi FrauVicky,
There are two arms on either side of the inside of the bin that you use as clips to hold the bags.
Thank you for using Argos Q&A.
I have the same issue, think it's just a poor design. It does feel like it's missing something at the back.
i thought same thing that clip on back would hold down the lid but it does not every time i go to lift the lid the whole thing pops off total piece of crap and to be honest if not for the fact that i have used it for the last few days i would return it not worth the money and badly designed. i have came up with a kind of fix i have added a line of the long window/door draft excluder (foam stuff) to the inside of lid so now it gives it a little more tightness to hold it on the base hope this might help any other people with lid issues.
Hi Ali,
The Lid does not include a clip and is positioned on top on the bin itself
Hope This helps & Thanks for using Argos Q&A
It just lifts up.
