Introducing our most lightweight steam generator, the Russell Hobbs Steam Power Series 2 Steam Generator Iron. With a generous 4.5 bar pressure, it gives the ultimate steam performance for large laundry loads. Ideal for crease removal, the huge 95g of pressurised steam glides through stubborn creases easily, and with its 1.3 litre water tank you can iron for longer without having to refill. Short of storage space? Then you'll love the steam gen's easy storage solution allowing you to stand the generator in an upright position into a cupboard.
Concerned about limescale damage? The Series 2 Steam Gen protects against high levels of limescale with its specially designed system that has an anti-scale cartridge, meaning the water is purified on its way into the tank to reduce build up. There is an additional filter designed to capture any limescale that does manage to enter the system, which can be emptied & cleaned by rinsing under the tap.

This is my best iron so far. The iron glides well on the clothes, steam is great and I love the way it can stand on the iron board between ironing and the added perk on the fact the iron is safe when placed on the steamer as it can't slip off. I have used my Steam generator dry for 3 times which I was pleased with the results. I used it with steam today for the first time and again very pleased with the results. Easy Ironing. Having the large water tank makes it easier. Also the steam only come out when you press the button which I find doesn't soak the clothes to much. Overall

This was an emergency purchase as our Philips of about a year old just stopped working and I had run out of work shirts... I bought this after a lot of should I shouldn’t I but as there was a 20% discount on Morphy Richards products it seemed like a genuine bargain, it really is a good piece of equipment once you fill the water tank the steam keeps coming and lasts a really long time, very easy to use and gets stubborn creases out without having to apply much manual pressure, very pleased so far

The anti-scale cartridges used on the Russell Hobbs SteamPower Series 2 Steam Generator Iron 24430 will need replacing when used up. The life of the anti-scale cartridge depends on the frequency of use and the hardness of the water in your area. In a soft water area this should be about 100 uses. Do not put any descaling products (including vinegar) into the reservoir. This can damage the appliance.

Thanks for your query about the Russell Hobbs SteamPower Series 2 Steam Generator Iron 24430.
Having checked, it will product some noise from the emission of the steam, such as occasional pumping sounds when water is being pumped into the steam generator and the valve in the steam generator when you press the button. However, neither of these is likely to be very loud or significant.
As to whether this is particularly noisy, with this being very much a personal and subjective thing, we cannot give a quantified answer. Irons generally do not produce very high sound volumes anyway but neither will the iron be totally silent.

I actually don’t mind ironing now that I have this Russell Hobbs Steam generator iron. It isn’t at all noisy so listening to the radio isn’t a problem. It performs its job really well, is light to use and I would recommend it to anyone.
hi Shirley, the iron will take tap water and it does have an Anti-scale for hassle free maintenance. Some areas have a higher calcium content in their water than others and you can of course use purchase distilled water - this would have all the impurities removed already.

Yes it does, I use water from my filter to help stop lime scale build up. This is the best iron I have owned.
if it's like mine the noise you can hear is the pump giving the steam it's pressure
