I bought this iron a couple of weeks ago in the sale and I’m really pleased with it - it’s excellent at removing the creases heats up quickly and is easy to fill with water - I would definitely recommend it

dont bother, spend more and buy a Tefal
Only put one star, because you cant review without one. bought as a stand in iron whilst my Tefal was serviced. the 'power' steam was less powerful than a farting squirrel. you could hardly tell when the power steam button was being pressed or not. The iron kept sticking to easy iron John Lewis school shirts, making them hard to iron and more creased than before starting to iron. I feel like this could be due to lack of user control settings of heating element. The water container was annoying to empty, if you don't want to store your iron with water in the water container. spend the extra money and get the Tefal power steam iron which this iron claims to be as good as. It will last longer, be less stressful and is actually a good iron.

Really so much lighter than my old one. I thought oh dear this isn’t going be very good, but I was wrong glides and steams creases away. Don’t need to put pressure on. The tank has a really good water capacity.

The anti-scale cartridges used on the Russell Hobbs SteamPower Series 2 Steam Generator Iron 24430 will need replacing when used up. The life of the anti-scale cartridge depends on the frequency of use and the hardness of the water in your area. In a soft water area this should be about 100 uses. Do not put any descaling products (including vinegar) into the reservoir. This can damage the appliance.

Thanks for your query about the Russell Hobbs SteamPower Series 2 Steam Generator Iron 24430.
Having checked, it will product some noise from the emission of the steam, such as occasional pumping sounds when water is being pumped into the steam generator and the valve in the steam generator when you press the button. However, neither of these is likely to be very loud or significant.
As to whether this is particularly noisy, with this being very much a personal and subjective thing, we cannot give a quantified answer. Irons generally do not produce very high sound volumes anyway but neither will the iron be totally silent.

I actually don’t mind ironing now that I have this Russell Hobbs Steam generator iron. It isn’t at all noisy so listening to the radio isn’t a problem. It performs its job really well, is light to use and I would recommend it to anyone.
hi Shirley, the iron will take tap water and it does have an Anti-scale for hassle free maintenance. Some areas have a higher calcium content in their water than others and you can of course use purchase distilled water - this would have all the impurities removed already.

Yes it does, I use water from my filter to help stop lime scale build up. This is the best iron I have owned.
if it's like mine the noise you can hear is the pump giving the steam it's pressure
