It's built from North American oak, a hardwood chosen for its strength, and comes with four matching chairs to get you started. Disapointed
Got this in the sale definitely not worth the full price but I got it at the sale price. I would have sent it back after trying for a hour to fit the first seat cushion but a friend who is a carpenter looked at it as a challenge carried on he had to put shorter screws in all the chair stretchers and put the chairs together in his own order. I am still waiting for replacement seat cushion that was badly marked.

Nice Furniture, not straight forward to Assemble!
When put together, I found that the alignment was out on some of the holes and the bolts were difficult to start, to the point that slight modifications were needed. Also, not realising it at the time, two of the bolts were longer than the rest and when I tightened the bolt, it bottomed on the hole and started to split the top of the leg on one of the chairs. I had to recut the bolts and glue the damaged leg. The table and chairs look nice but some people might struggle to overcome some of these problems.

The Home Ashwell Oak Veneer Dining Table & 4 Chairs seat surface is PU.
It is strong enough to be use as domestic seat.

Thanks for your query about the Ashwell Oak Veneer Dining Table & 4 Chairs.
Having checked, the manufacturer advises that the chair frames are made of oak. No veneer is listed. The table legs are also oak but its top is veneered and it's made of oak and MDF.
As far as I know it’s solid oak with oak veneer table top, my wife is more than happy with this set x it’s a good oak colour and very sturdy, and a good price.

the table weighs approx 21kg and the measurements are
Length 107cm width 0.88 cm and depth 0.16cm
the chairs (per pair of chairs) weighs approx 16kg and the measurements of the carton are length 100cm width 0.26 cm and depth 0.50cm X 2.

As we bought this last year, I have no idea what the package measurements are. but the dining set comes in two large boxes and it is very well packaged. Hope this is of some help.
