Wow! Always imagined how cool it would be to own a Neo Geo back in the day but that was just a pipe dream! An ethereal thing only the tiniest luckiest few could get. Well 13 year old odd me - NOWNI HAVE ONE AND IT’S EVEN BETTER THAN WE IMAGINED!! Woo!!! ‘Nuff said. Well, I could add things about £3k’s worth of game (in the 90’s ‘now’ money) and console wrapped into a classy portable package. Just buy it. Past you will find a way to travel forward in time and get you if you don’t!

Great NeoGeo Handheld

I Always wanted a NeoGeo as a child but never got one. Having a handheld device with games built-in is great. And with the Evercade compatibility, I means I can add to my NeoGeo library with external cartridge's.

Great little NeoGeo handheld for the price

the NeoGeo was very much “The one that got away” for me. Mostly because of the incredibly expensive cartridges, but for a time in the 90’s I really lusted after one of those things. The console itself was pretty attractively priced and it comes with 14 games built in. Plus I have the option of picking up some Evercade carts for it later on should I so desire. It’s a tiny thing - roughly Gameboy Color sized but slightly thicker. The screen is nice and bright for the price, but I am much older now and my eyesight has deteriorated since the days of the Gameboy Color or Gameboy Advance SP, making it hard to tell what’s going on sometimes. Meaning, there has been much squinting and peering myopically over the top of my spectacles. The button layout on the front is also roughly equivalent to a Gameboy Color but the rear “shoulder” buttons feel slightly lower than the ideal and poorly placed, My hands tend to cramp up a bit over extended use. Again, maybe an old person thing. They're all good games. I’ve spent most time on Blazing Star and Metal Slug X. Blazing Star keeps telling me how great I am after every boss battle, I love it for that. “You did it! Your skill is great! (Rank D)”. Obviously many of these games were designed to relieve you of your coin quickly and make way for the next punter, but I’m reliving that early period of my life where a trip to the arcade with a pocketful of 10p pieces could keep me occupied for an entire afternoon - roaming from machine to machine between short bursts of gaming. Fortunately this little console comes with infinite 10p pieces or I’d be off begging my Mum (RIP) for more coins.
