About this product
Quite the retro fellow. The Habitat Max console has been crafted from solid oiled oak and oak veneer. The rich oil finish used on the oak brings warmth to your space. The slatted front adds both intrigue and character. It sits on a hidden plinth to give it a light appearance.
The console's slender profile and compact footprint make it a versatile design that can be used to store a variety of items in the hallway, living room or dining room. Stow away tableware, glassware and accessories. Its push-close mechanisms provide a streamlined look. Max was designed in-house by Matt Long at Habitat who was inspired by traditional louvred doors. Stylishly slatted.
The Max solid oak console is made from solid oiled oak and oak veneer.

Great looking and good size cupboard
This is a nicely made and good finish cupboard. We also have the smaller console table and we like that too. It’s reasonably straightforward to put together though easier with two people for some parts. To be fully stable it needs to be fixed back to the wall. Otherwise there is some slight movement in the frame.

This is a lovely piece of furniture. The quality is great and it looks brilliant. I couldn't be more pleased.

Awkward to assemble doors
We have had other Habitat furniture and been delighted with but this, for the cost, was a little disappointing. It doesn’t feel as solid as expected and whilst it does look good the doors gave us a lot of trouble aligning and we did end up leaving it at ‘best attempt’ not fully right.

Good quality...colour different
Really like this. Colour is way lighter than my laptop and phone show it but it's so nice we've kept it. Trying to get the matching tv stand but out of stock atm. I'd give Argos minus stars for their virtually non existent customer services tho. Nigh on impossible to get anywhere.

We love our Max cabinets
We ordered two cabinets and a TV stand. They came together very easily and feel very sturdy. I do recommend oiling all the parts before putting the cabinets together. We used two coats of simple B&Q boiled linseed oil. The oil brought the woodgrain out and protected the wood. It did make the pieces a little darker, but we prefer the richer colour anyway.

Stylish, affordable furniture good quality.
Very easy to construct, diagrams and fittings easy to follow for one person to complete within an hour. Final result is a very pleasing contemporary piece of furniture.

Good, looking great material and storage capacity.
Quick delivery it’s feature in the home, not as stable as it possibly seems that works well for the vinyl record player and amplifier with lots of storage underneath. Easy to assemble. A good habitat designer quality

console table
nice consol table. the photos are quite accurate. Instructions could be slightly easier to follow (e.g. to be able to distinguish different screws and bolts). It would be nice to add few spare screws.

Hello Sarah,
The supplier has advised the Max Oak Console Table - Natural internal shelf is 472 x 286mm.
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hi Selina,
Thanks for your query about the Max Console Table - Oak.
This will depend on where and how you use it and how often you clean it. Though the gaps between the slats on the doors are not large, they do go all the way through the door so there would be free movement of air between the exterior and interior of the unit.
If the location it’s in is exceptionally dusty, if there is a lot of air movement, and if that dust is likely to be in the air, there is a chance that at least some of it could get inside the unit over time.
Normal domestic use, e.g. in a living room, probably wouldn’t produce huge amounts of dust but you might find a small build up over time that might periodically require some cleaning.
Thanks for using Q&A.
It doesn't have wall mounting fixtures and is quite heavy but if you really wanted it wall mounted and competent joiner would probably be able to do it for you.
Hi Eliza,
No, the Habitat Max Console Table is not designed to be wall mounted.
