About this product
The Argos Home Islington Short Bookcase gives you proper storage for your books, DVDs and bits you want on display without taking up too much room. It's made from oak veneer and pine with a natural wood finish that adds warmth to your living room or study. Two fixed shelves provide solid support for your collection, each one holding up to 50 kilogrammes, so you can load them up with heavy books or box sets. The traditional style fits in with existing furniture and works in both classic and modern spaces. It arrives fully assembled, so you just unwrap it and position it where you need it.
The oak veneer shows the natural grain of the wood, giving each bookcase its own character. Fixed shelves keep the structure sturdy and prevent wobbling when reaching for items. It's the right height to sit under a window or alongside a sofa without blocking views or dominating a wall. Wall-mounting brackets are included for extra stability, recommended for homes with children or pets. Two people make positioning easier because of the weight. Part of the Islington collection, so you can match it with other pieces when furnishing a room. Comes with a two-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Good solid furniture
So glad I bought this book case, it’s good and solid and came very well packaged. No putting it together (except handles and knobs). I liked it so much I decided to also buy the coffee table and 2 units in the same Islington range! Argos have come up trumps in this furniture department! Well done Argos 👍! Beautiful Bookcase
This was bought as a birthday present and the recepient was absolutely delighted with it. It is a really well made product, strong and solidly built and will certainly last a lifetime or beyond. Deep shelves so you can store plenty of books in it and there is ample room on top for displaying photos, ornaments or whatever you fancy. There is no assembly needed unless you wish to attach it to the wall. Highly recommended.

Wider than the large bookcase
bought this to put next to the taller Islington bookcase. Surprise, surprise the small one is wider than the tall one. They look ridiculous next to each other. Fortunately I have found another place for it. As this range was bought as a stop gap due to a mould explosion I am not too worried about how they look. The only good thing was they came ready assembled.

Plain but Classy
It arrived very well packaged and protected from potential damage en route. The simple lines are pleasing to my eye, the wood is of reasonable quality and it feels sturdy to me.
