Nicely styled kettle which looks good in the kitchen. The fill level is easiky seenas is the temp guage. The white plastic square underneath the handle fixing looks cheap. I don't see why it is there. It spolis the high end look of the whole kettle. The handle gets in the way of filling the kettle from a jug of water which is a little frustrating as I use a filter jug. The kettle is designed for tap fill only. Cable length is good and the base feels solid. The water boils quickly with a predictable quick roar but isn't that noisy. I am hoping that the red painted surface is quality otherwise it will quickly get scratched where the lid is pulled off and pushed back on several times per day. Cosmetic wear is excluded from the guarantee. For the price I expect the kettle to be made and painted in a way to withstand lots of normal use. It comes with a spare filter but I don't see the point in this either. It's going to get lost. After a couple of weeks use in a soft water area there is a semi circle of marks inside the bottom of the kettle which concerns me a little. I like the look and the quick boil and hope both last.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Haden 188854 Jersey Kettle - Red: We would advise against using the kettle without the filter in place. The filter is designed to help reduce limescale and also regulates the flow of water during pouring.
Please also note that removing the filter does not make the kettle plastic-free, as the water level window is made of plastic. However, we can confirm that all plastic components that come into contact with water are BPA-free.

Hello there. The Haden 188854 Jersey Kettle is measured in litres rather than cups, so it would be dependent upon the size of the cup/mug. There will be a minimum level of water required to make it safe to use.

The gauge on the Haden 188854 Jersey Kettle just allows you to see the temperature the water is at. You would then be able to interrupt the boil, if you prefer the water a little colder than boiled.
