Have been looking at this kettle for a while and my only regret in buying it is that I didn't do it sooner. Even my partner loves it and that is saying something. Looks amazing, easy to fill and sits well in the hand. The temperature gauge is great for making coffee. The kettle even comes with a spare filter so no more wahing and rushing to fit it back on.The only negative, and it is very small for us but may impact others more, is that being metal the sides do get a bit hot. Yes it may cost a bit more but to be honest having purchased cheaper kettles in the past, I feel it's worth ever penny.

Lovely retro style kettle
Good quality solid kettle which looks great in our kitchen! Feels very balanced when pouring. Love the temperature dial - not least for knowing how hot the kettle is without having to touch it! Another plus is that it has a removable limescale filter, which is a necessity in our hard water area - and even includes a spare :) The amount of water entering the kettle can clearly be seen via the viewing window due to the position of the handle. Not necessarily a super quick boil, but is quick enough and, more importantly for me, quieter than our previous kettle. 1.5L capacity is perfect - any more and it would be too heavy. Just be aware that because the handle is over the lid, if you need to refill the kettle again immediately after the boiled water is poured, to avoid getting hot (possibly hurt) hands, I would recommend first partially re-filling the kettle via the spout, to cool the inside and remove any residual steam before taking off the lid. For me this is the best kettle I have had in a long time and well worth the money.

Excellent kettle
This is the second Haden Jersey kettle that I’ve bought. Unfortunately I dropped the first one, but had been so happy with it that I replaced it with the same model. I have, in the past, owned more expensive kettles. However, this design has proved excellent value for money, being half the price but just as robust (unless dropped onto an unforgiving stone floor). This kettle comes in a range of pleasing colours. I loved the dark, inky blue one that I previously owned and am happy with my current cherry red one. It fits well into my kitchen.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Haden 188854 Jersey Kettle - Red: We would advise against using the kettle without the filter in place. The filter is designed to help reduce limescale and also regulates the flow of water during pouring.
Please also note that removing the filter does not make the kettle plastic-free, as the water level window is made of plastic. However, we can confirm that all plastic components that come into contact with water are BPA-free.

Hello there. The Haden 188854 Jersey Kettle is measured in litres rather than cups, so it would be dependent upon the size of the cup/mug. There will be a minimum level of water required to make it safe to use.

The gauge on the Haden 188854 Jersey Kettle just allows you to see the temperature the water is at. You would then be able to interrupt the boil, if you prefer the water a little colder than boiled.
