The HOY Pentland 20 Inch Kids Bike supports this, designed as an ideal first geared mountain bike for ages 6 to 8. Its lightweight aluminium frame eases handling for smaller riders, while the 7-speed Shimano drivetrain introduces gear-changing on varied terrain. Developed with input from Sir Chris Hoy's Olympic experience, it balances performance and child-focused design. Built for children 6 with a height of 111-115cm and an inside leg of 53.5cm, it helps them ride independently.

It features front and rear Tektro mechanical disc brakes for reliable stopping in different conditions. The 20-inch wheels with mountain bike tyres handle light trails and tarmac. Child-specific geometry and shorter crank arms suit smaller riders, while adjustable brake levers fit smaller hands. The quick-release seatpost makes height adjustments easy as they grow. Weighing 8.95kg assembled, it's light enough for confident young riders. Self-assembly required; professional assembly recommended if inexperienced.
