Not fit for purpose
I bought this expecting it would be light easy and safe to use. Very disappointed. After reading all the instructions. First try chain came off. Very badly made. Can’t get the chain on or tighten it. Not fit for purpose 😡

Great mini chainsaw
Have used this chainsaw a few times now - it's like a hot knife through butter! Very handy for pruning larger branches when a full size saw is too big for the space available. Remember to load it with oil and realise it has limitations - it's NOT a replacement for a full chainsaw for tree felling but it's so useful for the smaller tasks. Recommended

Impressive considering the cost. Great value.
This mini chainsaw is just as good as an expensive one I bought a couple of years ago. Blade still reasonably sharp after cutting a lot of trees.

Good overall product for the price.

Excellent product but.......NOT for thick branches
I purchased 3wks ago and have found the product to be extremely user friendly ie ergonomics ✅ battery ✅ safety ✅ however, re cutting, please be advised that this product will only cut through branches 4-5ins in circumference. I have tried a few different gardening jobs and it is excellent ie cutting through a wooden delivery pallet, old planks of wood etc BUT as mentioned, when it comes to cutting thicker types of wood the product appears to struggle to the extent that the chain WILL become loose (but not dangerous). In summary, an excellent tool for cutting through the smaller/medium sized garden tasks.

Great bargain.
Love this mini chainsaw. I am a 75 yr young woman and it is the first time I have ever used one of these. It is a great size, great at cutting and the battery is good. You do need to buy some oil before you can use it. Instructions easy to understand, but I also checked out how to use online too. Definitely recommend for any gardening jobs.

Clever little tool.
This is a fabulous little tool. It cut through some over hanging branches like a knife through butter. I was amazed. I am 82 & my hands are painful with carpal tunnel & arthritis so I was looking for something 'light' in weight but might do the job for me. 10 out of 10 I love it, I'm very pleased. It was not a 'chore' at all. Thank You. (I am female) Oh, my neighbour has now just bought the same model - says it all really

Very efficient and useful hand tool.
Wow! Great little device it saved me hours of hand sawing or lopping. Cuts really well on small or larger branches up to approximately 4 to 5 inches. The battery lasted for my whole job so no interruptions having to recharge. It felt very safe and comfortable to use. One addition would have been useful would have been to include a shoulder strap so I didn’t have to keep putting the device down.

Overall quite good.
Used for a couple of weeks now. Good bit of kit. I have found that the nut can loosen and chain slip off. It can be fiddly refitting it, but it’s relatively simple. Occasionally the battery clip slips and thy slight disconnect can leave you with the saw cutting out and you worrying. The oiling system is easy to use - make sure you buy oil before you use this! I can’t believe just how powerful this little gem is. Totally worth the money

Hello Faz,
Our supplier has advised the following for the McGregor MCLCS18 18V Cordless Mini Chainsaw -
-Firstly, you must disengage the chain-brake.
-Then, turn the adjustment knob anti-clockwise to loosen the chain.
-To re-tighten, turn the adjustment knob clockwise.
-Adjust until you achieve the desired tightness. There should be 2-3 mm of a gap when you lift an individual link out of the bar.
Tips:
-The tension of the chain must be adjusted regularly during the run-in. -Immediately adjust the chain tension if the saw chain wobbles or comes out of the guide groove.
-The tension in the chain has a major effect on the service life of the saw chain and blade. It must therefore be checked regularly. When the saw chain warms up to operating temperature, the chain tension will change and must be readjusted. A new saw chain will have to be retightened more frequently until it has reached its operating length.
Please check that after starting the chainsaw and you are intending to use the chainsaw that the chain brake is disengaged, because if the chain brake is engaged the chain will not rotate.
Please ensure that the blade and chain are not damaged.
If either are damaged they will need to be replaced.
Tensioning:
-Please make sure that the chain is correctly tensioned.
-Each link should be able to be pulled out so that the bottom is still within the bar.
-You should be able to rotate the chain around the bar if you move the chain with some gloves.
