Excellent little saw. Goes through branches like a hot knife through butter. Be careful not to attempt a branch that is too big for the saw. Watch your fingers.

Did the job!
I bought this for use at my allotment where we have no electric. I used initially to chop up parts of an old shed and the saw coped well. The chain did come off a couple of times, but I was probably trying to cut more than it was designed for. Managed to get it back on fairly easily. Great for heavy pruning of bushes/trees.

Great mini tool to have
For a mini one, this has some great power! I would highly recommend it if you weren't sure about getting a large chainsaw. Being battery powered made it even easier to use. I would have rated it 5 stars, but when the chain comes off, it's super fiddly to get back on. Other than that, I very happy with my purchase.

Not very good I’m afraid Lasted all of 60 seconds before chain fell off, this despite following the tensioning instructions in the instructions Chain could not be refitted as tensioners would not move. Great value for money
I needed to take the top out of a conifer standing on an extended ladder. Manual sawing was taking forever. With the McGregor mini chainsaw I completed it safely and easily in 15 minutes. Excellent and worth every penny.

Our supplier has advised the following for the McGregor MCLCS18 18V Cordless Mini Chainsaw -
-Firstly, you must disengage the chain-brake.
-Then, turn the adjustment knob anti-clockwise to loosen the chain.
-To re-tighten, turn the adjustment knob clockwise.
-Adjust until you achieve the desired tightness. There should be 2-3 mm of a gap when you lift an individual link out of the bar.
Tips:
-The tension of the chain must be adjusted regularly during the run-in. -Immediately adjust the chain tension if the saw chain wobbles or comes out of the guide groove.
-The tension in the chain has a major effect on the service life of the saw chain and blade. It must therefore be checked regularly. When the saw chain warms up to operating temperature, the chain tension will change and must be readjusted. A new saw chain will have to be retightened more frequently until it has reached its operating length.
Please check that after starting the chainsaw and you are intending to use the chainsaw that the chain brake is disengaged, because if the chain brake is engaged the chain will not rotate.
Please ensure that the blade and chain are not damaged.
If either are damaged they will need to be replaced.
Tensioning:
-Please make sure that the chain is correctly tensioned.
-Each link should be able to be pulled out so that the bottom is still within the bar.
-You should be able to rotate the chain around the bar if you move the chain with some gloves.
