Artisan kettle niggles
Good looking kettle that matches the other 3 KitchenAid devices we have had since 2021. The 1.7ltr kettle from 2021 developed a fault on the main switch which is why we ordered the new red Artisan kettle. The new kettle looks good and heats water to various temperatures. But there are 3 Niggles with its operation. The main niggle is when boiling water (100deg C) the water boils for approx 10/12 seconds after first hearing the water boil and steam appearing at the spout. The new kettle temp control is now electronic not by steam operating a bimetal strip to switch off at boiling point so should switch off immediately on reaching 100C. Second niggle is the lid not fully opening to fill at the tap. It only half opens so have to manually lift it or push with the tap. Third niggle. The audible sound when power is switched on at the socket and when the on button is pressed and when the kettle switches off at the set temperature seems muted. There is nothing wrong with our hearing ! I have recent experience of the sound from a new KitchenAid 1.7ltr kettle that we returned because the liid was not opening at all. That kettle sound was much louder and purposeful. Pitty because it’s a nice looking kettle that I will be living with for a tfew years.

Wow love it !!
Wow love it !! This kettle is an excellent all rounder with quick boil, variable heat settings. Love the shape and the little subtle beep when it switches on/off. The colour and paint is by far better than my previous kettle (dare I say it smeg) all round it exudes quality and well worth the price tag.
