With DAB, DAB and FM built in, enjoy clear reception and 8 presets to jump straight to Radio 4, your local station, or streaming services using the trademark Roto Dial controller. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 let you stream from your mobile easily, with Bluetooth remembering up to 6 devices. The alarm and sleep timer make it a perfect bedside companion, and the colour display is clear across the room.
The Composite wood hand-crafted grille and Satin Charcoal finish give it a look that fits beautifully on a bedside table, kitchen counter, or living room shelf without feeling like tech clutter. Beautiful design
I've previously owned Ruark products and I keep coming back to them as nothing else seems to come close in terms of design, build quality and sound performance. I was looking for a new radio for our kitchen and Ruark was my first and last brand of choice. A brilliant piece of kit!

Nice looking quality piece of kit
I won the radio for best letter in Octane magazine. I'm really happy with it - its easy to set up, has very good sound quality and works very well as a dab radio - finds channels easily, and has much better reception than another couple of dab radios I have. It also looks very stylish, Ruark have give a great deal of thought into the design.

Brilliant little audio player
I bought the R1S last month in part to replace an ancient DAB radio, but the other features like Internet like radio and Bluetooth were a plus. It's surprisingly intuitive to use and the sound quality is outstanding for such a small unit. Definitely worth the price tag.

Perfect for Kitchen and Bedroom listening
Purchased the R1S for listening in the kitchen replacing a Roberts Stereo Internet Radio. The comparisons are very interesting. The Ruark sound, even though it's mono, is far superior to the Roberts. The sound is far clearer and more refined. The rotary control works well. I will however comment that internet radio stations take a while to connect, sometimes taking a minute to link. This happens often with the BBC Local Radio Stations. This didn't happen with the Roberts. Once the stations load however, they are more stable and dropout is much less than the Roberts. I do however miss the radio station logos and the comprehensive text that is transmitted by them. Storing the presets required me to download the online user guide. I however I would recommend the Ruark R1S to anyone who requires a well built and attractively designed radio for kitchen and bedroom use because the sound is so good.

Great Radio but..
Love the look and sound of this brilliant radio, only gripe is the clock falls back by an hour or 30mins every now and then in the middle of the night I’m keeping my fingers crossed after a few tweaks but for the moment I’m setting my phone as an alarm clock

Great birthday present for Mom

Great little radio
I brought this radio to replace a Sono Roam I used in our Kitchen. It’s a great little radio very versatile easy to use and change stations my wife love it no need to any fancy app just simple button. Look great and well built as well.

Really great radio
I purchase this radio approx a month ago to replace another make, this Roark R1S has been really good sound and easy to set up. The only improvement would be better detailed instructions for certain settings, and maybe a slightly larger time display for use as a bedside radio when a glasses wearer would not have glasses on.
