With DAB, DAB and FM built in, enjoy clear reception and 8 presets to jump straight to Radio 4, your local station, or streaming services using the trademark Roto Dial controller. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 let you stream from your mobile easily, with Bluetooth remembering up to 6 devices. Great radio, ideal for my specific purpose.
I bought the R1S specifically to fit inside the casing of my 75 year old Bush DAC90 valve radio after taking out the innards due to BBC Radio 4 no longer broadcasting on LW and nothing of interest for me on MW, thus making the Bush radio redundant. The R1S fits nicely, it can be powered up from standby with no physical intervention other than a few presses on a mobile app. The sound quality is ok, the app is a bit slow at times but it is great to be able to store a couple of FM stations, a DAB and an Internet station all on the app home page so that everything is quick and easy to hand after setting up. A great radio for me and is now sitting in a beautiful Bakelite casing.

Brilliant sound!
I bought this after the support to my Bose radio and speaker was turned off. I wanted something that sounded as good and this certainly does. The presets proved to be a hassle but quickly sorted out after watching the YouTube video.

Beautifully Designed and Excellent to Use
I am extremely happy with my Ruark Audio R1S Smart Radio. The design, build quality, sound performance, and overall user experience are outstanding. It is a beautifully crafted product that I truly enjoy using every day. I would like to suggest one small software improvement. When the Preset button is pressed, the preset list always opens with Preset 1 highlighted, regardless of which station is currently playing. I believe it would be much more intuitive if the currently active preset were automatically highlighted instead. For example, if I am listening to Preset 2, pressing the Preset button should open the list with Preset 2 already selected. This would make browsing and switching between saved stations faster and more user-friendly. This is only a minor usability suggestion, as I am otherwise extremely satisfied with the R1S. It is an excellent product that I would happily recommend to anyone.

Looks smart
I’m very happy with my Ruark R1S smart radio. It looks good and sounds good. It sits perfectly in my kitchen. It was easy to set up and really easy to use. I’d definitely recommend it.

Fantastic, love this radio.
I think this radio is fantastic, yes it's much more expensive than the regular small radios but build quality and sound is very good. The only small radio that has some bass adding to the sound experience. Connection to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is also great.

The best radio out there at this time.
I’ve had several radios in the past and needed something better then what I have got already, so I decided on good reviews to purchase the R1S SMART RADIO. Well I’m amazed at the build quality it’s well designed in every detail and the sound I can say is amazing and it’s easy to set up as well . It’s not the cheapest but the price reflects on the very high quality . My only criticism is that you don’t get the remote control you have to buy this separately. But all in all a very well made radio and the sound is amazing.

Fantastic product
Recently purchased. This is a quality product that has many features and works perfectly. The sound quality is great for a small product. It feels premium as did the packaging it arrived in. It was delivered very quickly. Hadn't really heard of Ruark until I was looking for a new radio alarm but would definitely buy from them again.
