This Litter-Robot 4 cat litter tray handles that with automatic sifting that separates waste from clean litter after each use. Designed for kittens through to large cats, the system reduces odours and lets you check litter and waste levels through the Whisker app without manual checking. The 61cm width gives them room to move comfortably.
The app monitors litter box usage and tracks weight in real-time so you can keep an eye on patterns without lifting the lid. The sifting process happens after each visit, which keeps waste contained and odours down between emptying the waste drawer. At 80cm tall and 61cm deep, it fits into corners or utility areas, and the white finish keeps it looking clean alongside other household items.

Better then the cheap rubbish on the market
Expensive but like everything else you get what you pay for.... previously had a petkit max 2 which was ok but this device blows that one away..... Does a better job than the competition at stopping smells and makes life a whole lot easier with indoor cats unless of course you have some strange fetish with shoveling cat poo. Alot easier to clean then the petkit too Careful about going cheap on these products as the cheaper ones are not safe for your cats (Google search it)

Should have bought one sooner
I bought this litter robot after reading reviews, some very mixed. I also took feedback from actual owners I’ve spoken too. I’m so pleased I did buy one, it is so good at what it does. The only thing to get correct is the litter you put in it. If you use the wrong one it all gets thrown out when sifting like I did use fine granules like clay not big pieces as in plant based. Also must be clumping. Large capacity for collection, odour normally is from the cats in the litter itself and not the contained waste. Ergonomics is good footprint not much larger than a good sized manual litter tray.

Great improvement on Litter Robot 3 but expensive
I had a litter robot 3 that malfunctioned so replaced after 7 years with this. Improvements already noticeable is that it is near silent, odor has disappeared (I thought it was good before!) and manual sifting doesn’t seem to be required. Also accessibility has been improved as the opening is larger but the capacity seems to be similar needing infrequent top ups. Tracking is still an issue but that might be the litter brand. All in all it seems a good upgrade but not cheap.

Lightweight Litter
Lightweight litter does not work well with our weight-based system. The globe requires 8-10 lbs of litter to detect a 5 lb cat accurately. Lightweight litter typically weighs 50% of a standard weight litter, so it may not sense smaller cats.
It may work if the cats are generally heavier (10+ lbs). Also, note that lightweight litter tends to produce more dust and clump more slowly than other litter, so you may need to adjust the wait-time setting.
These litter types also tend to hold onto moisture and can cause corrosion to the metals and wiring inside the base. We'd recommend more frequent cleanings if using this type of litter.
Crystal Litter
Crystal litter (such as Pretty Litter) will work in the unit if the crystals are small enough to pass through the sifting screen. However, translucent or white-coloured litter (most often seen in crystal litter) may impact the litter level and Drawer Full Indicator (DFI) accuracy in Litter-Robot 4. Crystal-based litters will absorb the urine and dry out faecal matter so it will still drop down into the waste drawer. We'd recommend increasing the cycle delay setting to 15 minutes to allow the waste more time to dry out before it cycles. We'd also recommend replacing the litter more often to reduce odours. User experience varies with this type of litter.
Plant-Based Litters (Wheat, Corn, etc.)
Plant-based litter is typically not suitable for Litter-Robot because this litter does not clump well (resulting in litter sticking to the globe liner), decomposes more quickly, and tends to produce more litter dust and tracking. Since these litter types also tend to hold onto moisture, additional odours, gases, and moisture may cause corrosion to the metals and wiring inside the base, resulting in more frequent cleanings.
Pellet-Shaped Litter (Pine, Newspaper, etc.)
Larger pellet-based litters do not sift through the screen and often do not create litter clumps. We do not recommend using these types of litter in the unit.
Other Non-Clumping Litter
Non-clumping litter is not recommended for the unit.
