Happy with my purchase
I bought this hard drive to transfer my files from my old Windows 10 computer to my new Windows 11 computer. The instructions provided were very poor, so I looked up help guides on YouTube, which was very helpful. Following a Geek Guide I managed to successfully transfer my files without any hitches. I have left all my transferred photographs on the hard drive to save storage on my new computer. The My Passport hard drive, is very compact, and I'm happy with my purchase.

Product is great but Argos insist in trying to ups
The 1TB external storage device is great. But once again srgos staff attempted to sell insurance. I consider it an attempt to rip me off and a bad practice by management

Good product from a trusted supplier
Have been able to physically back-up important files from my music storage device. A lot of information which needed a lot of the 1TB storage in the My Passport Hard Drive.

Hi KB,
Yes, this Western Digital My Passport 1TB Portable Hard Drive would be suitable for that provided it's equal to or greater than the size of the hard drive you are trying to back up.

Yes this is suitable using a compatible USB data cable.

Hi Ben,
This Western Digital My Passport 1TB Portable Hard Drive is supplied with a USB-A cable. It is compatible with MacOS/OSX operating systems, although you will likely need to reformat it on first use.
To use it with a Macbook with USB-C ports you would need a separate USB-A to USB-C adapter, such as this one: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/6517566...
Thanks for using Q&A.

Hello Sam,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the WD My Passport 1TB Portable Hard Drive - Black: The WD my Passport is compatible with the Xbox series S in the sense that it can store games, however you will not be able to play the games on it. If you want to play the games you can use the WD_Black SN850X, available on Argos.

Western Digital confirmed to me on 12-04-2023, that although the product should work with Win7 they do not guarantee that it will, since Win 7 is a no longer supported OS system. I do not know about Win11, but it says in their literature that it requires Win10 and above.
Hi Mark
yes its compatible with both Windows 7 and Windows11

Hello Davy
I can advise the following on the WD My Passport 1TB Portable Hard Drive:
This doesn't have driver support for Windows XP, you may be able to get it to work by installing it from the Add new hardware wizard however as there isn't any downloadable drivers the plug and play may not officially work and thus rendering the drive unable to be used.
It's designed to be used with Windows 10+ and isn't officially backwards compatible, even though the formatting of the drive is correct for windows and most other systems.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Steve,
This is not an SSD.
