About this product
The Vax SpotWash is built for tackling spills and stains wherever they happen. It's a compact carpet cleaner that combines powerful suction with two cleaning attachments and a specifically formulated cleaning solution. At just under 4kg, it's easy to carry around the house or out to the car, and the 1.5m hose lets you reach upholstery, stairs and car seats without having to lug the whole unit up with you. The 4.5m power cord gives you decent reach, and the self-clean function flushes out the hose after you're done.
The clean water tank holds 1.5l and the dirty water tank holds 1l, so you've got enough capacity for a few spills or a stubborn stain before you need to refill. You get a multi-purpose attachment for carpets, upholstery and stairs, plus a hard floor scrub attachment for sealed hard floors. The adjustable floorhead switches between surfaces, and it cleans edge to edge so you're not missing bits along skirting boards. It comes with 250ml of Vax SpotWash cleaning solution to get you started. Works across carpets, upholstery, stairs, car interiors, and sealed hard floors.

Effective, if a bit of a ffaff. Good overall.
I looked into getting soft furnishings and rugs professionally cleaned and realised it was cheaper to buy the Vax SpotWash and do it myself. It's a bit of a ffaff - emptying it, and cleaning it after use. Also, it says to make sure everything is dry before putting it away but that takes about 24 hrs and in fact you can't empty the dirty water tank properly anyway because of the design. However, it works well - watching the dirty water being sucked up is very satisfying indeed. And in the sale it was good value.

I would have given 5* but no replacement hose
I love this product overall, but now wouldn’t recommend it - both mine and my mother in laws hoses split, and vax don’t offer a replacement. It means it’s now basically unusable unless you wrap a ton of tape around it. Now I wouldn’t recommend this cheaper model to anyone - buy the more expensive one where you can change the hose. So disappointing.

Button locks so water continues spraying
I was initially impressed when I first bought this spot cleaner as it was so handy. However within the first couple of months the button you press for the water to be released kept becoming stuck meaning excess water was spraying out. This issue continued to get worse. Overall I am disappointed with the spot cleaner and am looking to buy an alternative brand replacement

Amazing, compact, brilliant cleaning!
I bought this about a month ago and finally got round to trying it out today. I used it on four dining room chairs that were covered with marks from the children/husband, and it’s brought them up brilliantly. All marks gone even the greasy ground in ones! Used the lowest amount of water and solution and it was enough for the four chairs easily. I like how compact and light it is, and the extra long power cable is amazing! It packs away really neatly and I can store it under the kitchen sink! Love it!

I can advise that this can be used on older stains. I would recommend obtaining and correctly diluting the Vax carpet cleaner solution, spraying the stain with the carpet cleaner, using the scrapper end to work the solution into the stain and then letting it soak in for 5-10 minutes before then going over it. You may have to repeat this several times. Some very dark or very old stains may not come out entirely.
