About this product
If you are heading out for appointments, day trips, or holidays and need a wheelchair that folds down small enough to fit in a car boot, this one is designed to make life easier. It is lightweight but tough, with a strong steel frame and padded seat and backrest to keep you comfortable during short journeys. The attendant-operated brakes and swing-away footrests mean whoever is pushing has full control, and you can get in and out safely. It folds down to a slim profile in seconds, so it does not take up much space at home or on the road.
The puncture-proof tyres help avoid flats and keep you moving without worry, whether you are indoors or outside. The folding design makes it simple to store between trips, and it fits neatly into most car boots when you are ready to go. The footrests are adjustable and swing away to give you flexibility when getting seated or standing up. The parking brakes are operated by the attendant, keeping the chair secure when it is stationary. This wheelchair is suitable for short journeys, hospital visits, and travel where compact storage and ease of transport matter.

Excellent Value for Money.
Not had it for long. Bought for a friend. First impressions are very positive. It's great quality, and very sturdy. Easily folds together for portability. Considering it can hold a person up to 18st in weight. It's very strong and maneuvers great. I would like to have seen a larger diameter set of rear wheels. But certainly not a big problem as the tyres are very capable.

Perfect as a Travel Wheelchair
I bought this very last minute, having attempted to hire a wheelchair for a relative which unfortunately fell through the day before. And it was perfect for what I needed (to push said relative around an indoor craft fair for the day). It was small and light enough that I had no problem navigating London's very inaccessible stations (carrying it up and down stairs), and was easy to push. I would say this is definitely more suited to 'basic' use; pushing it around a hall for a few hours was fine, but I don't think it would be a pleasent experience out and about on the street! It was very easy to assmeble - being a last minute purchase I had to assemble it in the street. You literally just unfold it, clip the legs on, and you're ready to go! It folds up easily, and can easily fit in the boot of a car or tucked away in the corner of my flat. But this is a fantastic little wheelchair for the purposes it outlines in the description of this product.

Hello there
I can advise the following for: Drive Steel Compact Folding Travel Wheelchair.
The Drive Steel Compact Folding Travel Wheelchair (780/3080) is likely too large and unsuitable for an average 4-year-old child. It features a19-inch (48cm) seat width, which is designed for adults or larger teenagers, making it too wide and deep for a young child, who would not get proper support.
Thanks for using Q&A

Hi,
To qualify for VAT exemption on a Drive Steel Compact Folding Travel Wheelchair, the vehicle must be adapted for a disabled wheelchair user and for personal or domestic use. The supplier must provide a completed declaration, form VAT1615A, confirming eligibility. The vehicle must be permanently and substantially adapted to meet the specific needs of the disabled wheelchair user. If the vehicle is used for business purposes, it may not qualify for VAT exemption. It is essential to check with the supplier and HMRC to ensure the vehicle meets the necessary criteria for VAT relief.
