The sound quality is good overall, though it could be even better. It slightly lacks mids, but the highs are clear and crisp, and the bass is strong and satisfying. Through the app, you can adjust the equaliser exactly how you like, and it also offers two bass modes: Deep and Punchy, which is a nice feature depending on your listening preference. Connectivity is more than enough for me — it connects to my device within seconds and has been very reliable, so I’m very happy with that. Battery life depends on how loud you play it. At full volume, it lasts around 3–4 hours. I haven’t tested it much on low volume yet, but overall, for a speaker of this size and power, the battery performance is good enough. As for the design, I like it a lot. Personally, I find it much more attractive than the Boombox 3.Overall, I’m happy with the product and would recommend it to buy.

Every Party Needs this
Honestly, this speaker is the main character at our hangouts now. We had it set up near the fire pit last weekend, and the sound is just massive. It’s not just loud, it’s deep, heavy bass you can actually feel in your chest even when you're sitting back in a camping chair. What I love is that we didn't have to baby it. It was sitting in the grass, got a little bit of ash on it from the fire, and it didn't matter. It feels super rugged. We had music playing from the afternoon BBQ all the way until the fire died out late at night, and the volume never dipped. If you like deep bass and hanging out outside with the crew, this thing hits different. It just keeps the energy up all night without any stress.

Almost perfect
After using a lot of JBL products, from in ear wireless buds to the PartyBox 110, I felt like the Boombox 4 would be the perfect blend of deep bass and crisp sound… it wasn’t far off, and out the box it produced a great range of sound across different genres. The only gripe I had with the Boombox 4 was when the bass would overpower the rest of a song (not a problem if you’re using this for a party setting). After some brief research, I downloaded the JBL Portable app and it made a big difference being able to adjust the EQ and fine tune what I wanted to hear. After the mild tinkering, I found the speaker to be superior to a lot of speakers that are a similar size. Having USB C input for lossless audio, being able to link it with the PartyBox 110 (and other JBL speakers) creating an amazing surround sound experience, and having the ease of carrying it around, this is almost the perfect speaker for everyone.

What a speaker
WOW, WOW, WOW — what a speaker! This is a huge upgrade from my JBL Xtreme 2. The sound quality is incredible, the bass is unbelievably powerful, and the volume is way more than you’ll ever need — I’ve been playing my songs at half volume and it was still more than enough. Connecting the speaker was easier than ever — genuinely so simple. The size of the speaker is definitely bigger than my JBL Xtreme 2, but once you hear it, you instantly understand why. The sound levels and clarity are on another level. Another brilliant feature is that you can charge your phone directly from the speaker, which is insanely convenient. And the new charging port design is a massive improvement — I used to struggle opening the one on my JBL Xtreme 2, but this updated design is far better.

What a beast!!!
The JBL Boombox 4 honestly slaps. The sound is just straight up awesome, you turn it on and suddenly your room feels like it’s hosting a mini festival. The bass hits hard, the highs are clean, everything just feels big and crisp. And those LEDs on the sides? Way cooler than I expected. They give the whole thing a nice little vibe boost, like it’s trying to party with you. Battery life is crazy good too. It just keeps going and going, like it refuses to quit. Definitely one of those “charge it once, forget about it” kinda speakers. Plus, being able to pair it with other JBL speakers is super clutch. It’s so satisfying linking everything together and filling the whole space with sound. Only downside? The price. It’s kinda up there, and honestly you can get the JBL PartyBox 120 for way less and it comes with more features. So yeah, your wallet will definitely feel this one. But overall? Great sound, great lights, great battery life — just kinda pricey.
