A very average, 10 years old camera
Canon are cashing in on the popularity of compact cameras again by re-releasing this effectively ten year old camera with a few minor updates. Image quality is what you would expect from such an old design. In good light it produces nice images but as soon as the light fades or the clouds roll in the ISO goes up and the images become noisy. It's also a very basic camera in terms of the user interface. There are only really two modes, fully auto or programme. Programme gives you some control over exposure etc but there is no dedicated exposure compensation button so you have to access a sub menu to apply it. Overall, the image quality from wide angle to standard focal lengths is about what you'd get from a decent phone camera. The only place it out scores a phone is that it has a proper optical zoom so telephoto shots look better. Overall though, I get better photos from my Google Pixel 7 Pro. The main reason I bought it is to take the strain off my phone battery when out taking photos all day whilst on holiday. If it was £165 cheaper it would be OK value but at £365 it is way overpriced. A power bank may have been a much cheaper and better option.

A good buy.
I was very happy with this camera and the price I paid for it. The delivery was fast and reliable. I can fault nothing. This camera replaces my old Ixus which, after 20 years of use, is getting old.
