So I bought this camera to replace the one that had been up since 2017/18 as that didn’t have the motion tracking etc, & I had already purchased 2 of the little ptz cameras and was impressed by the functionality & the clarity of the picture. You need a decent WiFi connection to get them to work, I mounted it the other day & kept adjusting the tracking settings etc till I was happy with it, it has so many features for such a compact unit, motion tracking/line crossing detection/people detection/you can set the area for it to detect & the unit tracks till it’s out of view. You just need a micro as card for storage & the app on your phone, very easy to setup, so far I’m impressed…

Tapo for me are excellent cameras at a reasonable
I brought this camera to cover my rear garden . Last year i had my boundary hedge set fire to and to cap it of my garage was broken into. Fortunately I have a Tapo camera on the front of my house. The thief was caught on camera. The police were able to identify the thief who is now in custody. These tapo cameras give excellent picture quality. The new which now cover my boundary fence gives excellent coverage and tacking of people who walk by.

Excellent camera with all the bells and whistles
Excellent dual camera that has a large radius of view. You get one static camera which you can aim at front door, and one tracker camera that can sense movement. The camera has flood lights, an alarm and 2 way speaker so you can listen and respond to anyone near camera. All of it is controlled via the app which is easy to use and self explanatory when using. Installation is also very easy, if using on to a wall brackets, screws and a handy hole guide are included. You can alao uae as an indoor camera, just place on any flat surface. The unit is powered by a usb plug and comes with a 3 metre cable. You will need a plug point near to font door to use. Only slight draw back is if you do have a outside plug, the isb plug is like a.phone charger, tall, so it won't fit into a standard outdoor plug cover, you would need to find somehow to cover up against elements.

Better than I had hoped.
This is a much better camera than I have had previously. I love that I can have it aimed at my car, with the other camera tracking movements. Easy to set up and very clear picture. No complaints here.

Super good security camera. equipped with motion tracking, pet tracking, a built in alarm, a security light and so much more. The camera that tracks movement is an incredible You can speak through it to let delivery drivers/visitors etc know. The cloud records and saves any motion and there’s an option to insert a memory card. Picture quality is clear and precise even when zoomed in. Each camera can be zoomed separately. The mains power supply gets rid of the need to charge which is always handy.

Great Camera
This duel camera can be used indoors and outdoors. It requires a power source and the wire isn’t particularly long. It took several attempts to connect to the WiFi and the QR code provided doesn’t work. However once connected to WiFi the app is really easy to use. It has some great features, including being able to operate the movement of the camera lens, sound an alarm and a spotlight. It also has two way communication, which is my favourite feature. The camera has a really clear picture that can be changed to day or night mode. Another feature that I like is that the top camera lens rotates when motion is detected. You can record and take picture when in the app. When not using the app you will need to purchase an SD card or use a cloud service for it to continually record.

cameras require a Wi-Fi connection during setup. If the wifi goes down, camera will appear offline in the Tapo app, both live view and camera settings are unavailable.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Tapo C246D 2K 3MP Dual-Lens Pan/Tilt Security Camera - White.
No, an electrician is not required. The Tapo camera is powered by a standard mains plug (power adapter) and is not hard‑wired.
If any part of the power connection is outside, it should be kept in a weatherproof enclosure, as the adapter itself is not designed for outdoor exposure.

The telephoto lens has a focal length of 6.0mm with a field of view of 67.1° (Diagonal), 57.8° (Horizontal), 30.1° (Vertical), which provides better zoom capability for distant objects. Additionally, both lenses support 10.8x digital zoom.
While the camera has good resolution and zoom capabilities that may help capture details at reasonable distances, the ability to read number plates depends on several factors including:
• The distance between the camera and the vehicle
• Lighting conditions (the camera does have Color Night Vision and infrared capabilities up to 40 ft / 12 m)
• The angle of the camera relative to the license plate
• The speed of the moving vehicle
• Weather conditions
