The Epson EcoTank ET-2950 is designed for anyone who wants professional-quality printing without the constant hassle and expense of replacing cartridges. This wireless A4 inkjet printer handles printing, scanning and copying, and comes with refillable ink tanks that deliver up to 8,500 pages in black and 6,500 in colour from one set of bottles, which is equivalent to around 63 cartridges. You get borderless photo printing up to A4, automatic double-sided printing, and speeds of 15ppm in black or 8ppm in colour, so everyday documents and family photos are all handled without fuss.
The 100-sheet rear paper tray means less refilling, and the 3.7cm LCD screen makes navigation easy even if you're not confident with tech. Wi-Fi connects your laptop, smartphone or tablet without cables, and you can print directly from mobile devices using the Epson Smart Panel app or Apple AirPrint. It prints on paper up to 300gsm and delivers up to 4800x1200dpi resolution, so photos look vibrant and text stays sharp. The printer is compact for home use, weighs around 5kg, and comes with ink bottles, power cable, and setup guide to get started straight away.

Excellent Epson Ecotank
Very pleased with this printer. My last Epson ecotank lasted 7 years so I naturally looked for the same make. Really easy set up, and super clean. The new print system makes it a breeze. Took about an hour to set up in total. Its really sime to use. If I were you, Id buy it. Oh it comes with free bottles of ink as well.

Fine at the moment but we shall see.
It is quite time-consuming to set up. Took me over an hour. The setting up also took 25% of the ink. I'm pretty certain that I will need new inks after about a year. It will be interesting if I will be able to get this free as it will be a misrepresenation in its description. We shall see. It is much quieter and faster than my old EcoTank. Not printed any pictures yet.

Good Epson printer
I bought this last week and after a little effort setting it up, it printed out a pristine document. The box contained pictorial instructions for setting up which I had to look at several times to determine what I was to do and where to find it on the printer - so I would definitely recommend clarifying these. Other than that when it was set up, the printer was easy to use. The paper holder is at the back and depending on where you locate the printer, this might be a problem. When printing, the drawer that holds the newly printed document comes out automatically, but needs to be (gently) re-inserted manually. The screen is very small making it difficult to read the writing so, again, placement of the printer needs to be carefully decided. I haven't scanned or copied a document yet, so cannot comment on these functions. Also please be aware that any offers available need to be ticked prior to buying the printer as they cannot be accessed afterwards and there are no obvious routes to get help.

This is the second Epson EcoTank printer that I have bought. For ease of use especially with the eco tank technology I would definitely recommend. They also work out quite reasonably on price

No, it doesn't appear that the item has to remain switched on. It includes a power cable, but it doesn't state an always-on requirement. You should be able to switch it off when you're not using it.
