I did a lot of research on a "carpet washer" and after looking at a number of options, chose the Vax. What clinched the deal was that there was a special offer on that included some complimentary cleaning materials, so I clicked the button. Ordering was easy - as was delivery (a few days). It was perfectly packed in a solid box... and for once... the instructions were clear to follow. There was also a link to some online videos that I watched to ensure I was doing it right! Then the moment of truth - did it work - and whilst I was somewhat sceptical - one of our carpets had been pretty much untouched for years and had built up a layer of everyday muck... it really did make a massive difference. Yes it takes time, and on this occasion, I went over it twice - a few hours apart - but the carpet is remarkedly cleaner... and it was relatively easy to do. I didn't quite get the cylinder of dirty water that the video suggested, but the dirt has gone from the carpet. Recommended!

Easy to use.

I bought this product to clean a hall and stairs carpet that was looking a bit grubby. I was very surprised by ease of use and the results it gave. It was more powerful than I thought it would be- lifted years of dirt from the carpet and left it looking like new. I did have to fill and empty it a number of times, but it was easy enough to do. Light and the flex reached to the top of the stairs so it was easy to use. I used the recommended antibacterial shampoo with it and it left the hall smelling fresh.

Did the job

It's okay. Does the job but must admit I found it quite cumbersome to use. In an ideal world it would be better if it was on wheels as you have to keep stopping to shift it about when cleaning chairs etc. I get it that wheels could cause 'over balancing' the cleaner though......... I found the repetition of re-filling the tank/emptying it tiresome too. When trying to clean the sides of chairs the cleaning solution/water just dribbled straight down unless you speedily and vigorously brushed it quickly into the material. I guess, when used more often you will be operate it more proficiently. It did the job though. It's hard work so don't bother going to the gym that day, you will soon workup a sweat using this!

Great spot wash

This spot washer is a great family friendly and pet friendly spot cleaner. As a family with small children and pets, this spot washer allows me to quickly and easily clean marks on my soft furnishings with ease. The long cord allows me to reach all my furniture. The attachments are very good especially the car cleaning attachments. The suction is very good and takes up most of the water from the furnishings after cleaning. This allows the furniture to dry very quickly. It is easy to transport around the house and the capacity allows me to clean multiple areas in one load (this would vary depending on size of furniture)
