It’s easy to use
We have had this machine for 3 weeks now. We have had a barista express before so we were looking to improve the mess from the coffee grounds. This machine is much better in that respect. We are still adjusting it to make the perfect cup of coffee but feel we are nearly there. The water spout splashes water on the machine and around the worktop.

Great machine . Gives a lovely coffee . Still can’t seem to master the correct foam for art but that’s more me than the machine . Scratches very easily even when I’m super careful . So far so good though . Happy I bought it

My 25yr old barista was replaced by the Sage Express. So far not disappointed at…. in fact I fell in love at hello. Looks so beautiful. Very easy to set up. So many clever thoughts are there to assist with the perfect coffee & it’s very simple to use. Hope it lasts just as long. Love it!

Not a good experience
Bought this machine just before Christmas after researching the right machine for me and so far I’m very disappointed. Right from the start there seems to be issues with the extraction time and also sometimes nothing comes out the portafilter at all. The best extraction time I’ve achieved is 17 seconds, of which 8 of those are pre-infusion! Also the extraction time is the same whether on I shot or two! This has led to a waste of expensive coffee. I have tried all the different grind settings from all the online suggestions to check it’s not something I can adjust. I have tried starting a new case on the support page but again it won’t accept a batch code as there simply isn’t one on the sticker with serial and model number is. The whole experience has been expensive and extremely frustrating so obviously I’m not a happy customer.

It works, but I have mixed feelings
I bought this a month ago and now I think I can say something about its functionality. Overall impression is not bad, however, I expected more for that kind of equipment. Many settings are rather a guess and there is no way to find out how certain things really work. For instance, there is a sensor telling you if there is enough of coffee grinded in a basket. But how much is actually enough? There is a way to set up that level manually, but again - no way to find out how much the "minimum" really means. Or the maximum. Or whatever. I have played that guess game for couple of weeks and now I think I know what I need, but I like to know all the "why" and "how-to" things. Next thing - I don't know why it wastes a lot of water, it poures it down to the bowl without any reason. Anyway, I love the tamper. Perfect idea :-)
