Valve and no subscriptions required unlike some.
So far, so top of the cams. Solar panel seens to keep it charged . Easy to add to the tapo app, which I already had setup with the door bell cam. No subscription needed for storage, just buy a micro sd. I went for PNY 128gb does the job on both cameras. Notes for any camera with solar power. Place th solar pannel in most sunlight spot as you can. The mount splits into 2 parts which will help. Just use your own screws, I find a lot things that need fitting to walls come with rubbish screws. Last thing ,check for WiFi coverage around your property you need wifi boosters. Over all great pice of kit to keep you safe.

Tapo cctv camera
So easy to install just needs 4 screws drilling download the app and thats it. If all my household appliances were smart I could work everything from the app. It has a good security light and alarm. I can't fault it. I'm a 65 year old female and it was a doddle. I've had it installed for 2 weeks and the battery is still 100% I'm buying one for back garden.

Good camera - so good I'm getting another one.
A very good quality camera for the price. I was looking for a wireless camera and I found this one on discount. I am very sceptical about solar powered products, however this one has impressed me so far. It stays fully charged even in limited sunshine. Very easy to install and connect to the app. I have also linked it easily to Alexa.

Solar cctv tapo c610 2k
The Tapo C610 2k cctv camera is easy to set up and easy to follow instructions. The night time vision is really clear even when night vision is only used but good colour vision with lights used. Never used the screws or raw plugs that came with it as due to poor quality, that is the only issue o have found with all cctv cameras.

Tracking
Fantastic camera would definitely recommend the solar keeps it charged easy to set up. Video quality if decent and tracking is spot on

Very happy
Easy to install (with the help of a tech savvy 15 year old). Lots of settings to maximise usage and privacy depending on need. Bought an SD card so no monthly cost. The solar panel is keeping the battery charged even in January.

So good, we bought two.
Great value for what you get. Stays charged surprisingly easy. The only downside is it doesn’t like rain on the lens and lights at the same time as it suffers from glare.

Hi,
The Tapo C610 KIT only supports Motion Detection and Person Detection, not Pet Detection. Additionally, smaller animals may not be detected effectively.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
You can manage or view Tapo cameras on different phones/tablets in two ways:
Method 1: Via Device Sharing
1. In your Tapo app home page, long-press the camera card and tap Share, or go to Me > Device Sharing page, select the camera you want to share with others, then enter the invitee's TP-Link ID and tap Share.
2. Each camera can be shared with up to 5 TP-Link accounts.
3. Shared accounts can access Live View, Talk, Voice Call, Pan/Tilt Control, and SD card playback.
4. Shared accounts cannot change other settings or view cloud recordings.
For more details, refer to this FAQ: https://www.tapo.com/uk/faq/40/...
Method 2: Via Same Account
1. The Tapo app supports simultaneous login on multiple mobile devices.
2. To get full access to camera settings, or to have the same rights as the owner account, log in with the same TP-Link account on different phones/tablets.
3. For account and device security, it is recommended to do this only on your own devices. Enable Tapo app Two-Step Verification for added security: https://www.tapo.com/uk/faq/192/...
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
The Tapo app is free to download from Google Play and the Apple App Store. It supports Android devices (version 5.0 and above) and iOS devices (version 11.0 and above), including smartphones and tablets. Requirements may change over time—please check your app store for the latest info.
Tapo app is not compatible with operating systems like macOS or Windows.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
You can choose to enable loop recording, so new recordings will automatically overwrite older ones.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
With the Loop Recording feature enabled, the microSD card will automatically overwrite the oldest recorded videos when it becomes full.
To enable or disable Loop Recording, please go to the Tapo app > Camera's Device Settings > Storage & Recording > microSD card page.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Sarge,
Tapo C610 features a physical motorized pan-tilt mechanism, with a pan mechanical range of 340° (360° pan coverage) and a tilt mechanical range of 90° (130° tilt coverage). This means the camera physically rotates — it's not just a digital effect.
In terms of how it moves, the C610 supports both automatic and manual control:
• Automatic movement (Motion Tracking): When Motion Tracking is enabled in the Tapo app, the camera will physically rotate on its own to follow a detected moving subject, keeping it in frame automatically.
• Manual control via the app: You can also manually pan and tilt the camera yourself at any time directly through the Tapo app's live view interface, using on-screen controls to adjust the camera's direction as needed.
So to directly answer your question — yes, the camera does physically move when tracking, but you also have full manual control through the app whenever you prefer to adjust the view yourself.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Sarge,
The Tapo C610 2K 3MP Solar-Powered Pan/Tilt Security Camera Kit features 360‑degree AI tracking, enabling the camera to automatically pan and tilt to follow motion. In addition, the pan and tilt functions can be manually controlled via the Tapo app.
Thank you for using Q & A.
Hi,
For camera playback, there are two recording types: tapo care subscription and SD card recording. You can choose one of them.
For SD Card Recordings: An SD card is needed to access continuous or motion-triggered recordings (based on your Recording Schedule). To check which SD card is compatible with your camera, visit: https://www.tapo.com/faq/111/...
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
Wireless cameras require a Wi-Fi connection during setup. If the internet goes down, the camera will be offline.
1. Cameras in non Wi-Fi areas appear offline in the Tapo app, both live view and camera settings are unavailable.
2. However, pre-configured cameras can still record to an SD card even if there is no Wi-Fi. To achieve this:
a. Set up the camera and insert an SD card into the camera.
b. Enable Continuous Recording or Detection Recording under camera settings > Storage & Recording > Recording Schedule page.
c. Relocate the camera to the area without Wi-Fi.
d. Power it on—recording continues automatically.
e. To view recordings, take out the SD card and insert it in a computer via SD reader. Or check it via Tapo App > camera playback & download page after connecting camera back to Wi-Fi.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello there,
The supplier has advised the following for the Tapo C610 2K 3MP Solar-Powered Pan/Tilt Security Camera Kit:
"The Tapo C610 camera supports microSD cards, and Tapo does not explicitly recommend a single 'best' brand or model due to the vast variety available, differing recording needs, and personal budget preferences.
However, we can provide guidance on compatibility.
First, it's important to note that Tapo cameras generally do not have specific brand restrictions for microSD cards.
However, we have identified a few specific cards that are known to be incompatible with all Tapo and Kasa cameras.
Please advise the customer to avoid the following:
ADATA (A1, V10)
Samsung 256GB EVO Plus (U3, V30, A2, SDXC1)
For the Tapo C610, the camera supports microSD cards with a storage capacity of up to 512GB.
As long as the card's storage capacity falls within this range and its specifications align with the requirements outlined in our official FAQ, it will normally work properly with the C610."
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi,
To see the compatibility list of microSD cards we've tested and more details, refer to this FAQ: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/3048/...
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
The Tapo C610 KIT supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi but not 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
Do you refer to the LED light on the camera itself? To turn off the LED light, go to the camera's live view screen in the app, access the Device Settings page, and scroll down to find the toggle switch for the Status LED.
Thanks for using Q&A.
