Lightweight and sufficiently powerful

Just used this for the first time. The first edging after winter is always the hardest one and it coped well enough. Yes the cover clogs up with soil but the soil was a little damp and the ground will be drier as summer progresses and the channels will get easier to clear. When compared with petrol equivalents yes it's not as powerful but it's a whole lot more convenient and with the 40AH battery will do all my edging on one charge. A good purchase.

It does a good job on cutting lawn edges

This edger does the job. It is easy to steer. Since my lawns have stone borders I am cutting as close to the stone as possible. If I get too close I immediately hear the abrasion and correct. To begin with I cut an inch away but now I have learned to be closer. Having cut, I find the ragged edge of lawn can be removed easily with gloved fingers. If obstinate it can be loosened with a spade first. I have a pair of 3A batteries and they don't last long powering the edger, maybe 40 feet of cut each. However, while they are recharging one can gather the removed ragged edge and sweep up to make it look perfect. My sense is that the product is rugged and will last a good while. I have stone-free soil so no worries of flung stones, but I find the soil wedges up into the guard after a while of cutting. Not a problem, I just remove the battery and clean out the guard with a screwdriver.
