Logitech MX Master 4 Wireless Mouse for Mac - Pale Grey

Great mouse but poor Mac option

Overall the mouse is great, it would have been 5 starts, however I bought the Mac version, identical to the PC version but slightly different white shade to match the Mac from what I can tell. The problem is, I needed the remote connection dongle to use the mouse on other machines (it has 3 x settings so you can seamlessly switch between different machines), this does not come with the Mac version, only the PC version. Nowhere does it mention that, also why do you not bundle this with the Mac version? The price is exactly the same so feels like a cheapskate move... So would be 5 stars but beware, if you order the Mac version you won't get the wireless dongle, but you pay for it.....

Very happy as a full time college student!

So its been about a month since I purchased the mx master 4, and as a whole I am extremely happy with my purchase. As a college student whos life now predominantly revolves around work on my laptop having a good, comfortable, portable, and overall practical mouse became more and more crucial to my everyday work life. Being a college student with only a part time job however also meant that making a purchase of this price took alot of thinking over. It's no secret the mx master 4 isnt a cheap mouse and that there arent countless other options available on the market that would suit your simple day to. If you only need a computer mouse for odd bits and bobs here and there for short periods of time then maybe this mouse isnt for you. However, if you want to have the best, most feature packed, and just down right comfortable work experience then the mx master 4 is the way to go. The mx master 4 is especially useful when working in quiet environments (the college library for one) where you dont want to disturb others but also dont want to have to rely on an uncomfortable trackpad for hours on end. Saying all of this, no product is perfect and there are some caveats that I would like to address. 1) I have found myself using the quick switch features quite often to quickly go from my desktop, laptop, and phone seamlessly (an amazing feature!) However, having this button located on the underside of the mouse makes it an absolute pain if I wish to swap between devices quickly. (You can set up the custom mx master 4 shortcut wheel in the logioptions+ app to switch to certain quickswitch devices however this is limited to computers and does not work on mobile devices). Seeing an updated version where tgis quickshift button is located somewhere more accessible would be amazing. 2) I have found that the logiwheel that you can configure with the logioptions+ software has had some bugs, for example certain shortcuts and macros not working. This is just a generalised issue which I would like to see resolved in future updates. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and believe that people who have a similar use case scenario as me will find it extremely worth while in the long run.

Feature-Packed and Great for Productivity, but Slightly Heavy

I’m very happy with the MX Master 4 overall. It has some really useful features, especially the scrolling wheel and the button that lets you toggle the scrolling mode on and off. I also really like the side buttons and the customisation options. The side thumb button is very handy, and the horizontal scroll wheel is especially useful when working with large Excel spreadsheets, as it makes it easy to scroll left and right without having to use the scroll bar. My only concern is the weight. The mouse feels a little heavy when moving it around, and because of that, hand movements can sometimes feel slightly less effortless than with a lighter mouse. Overall, though, it’s a very comfortable and feature-packed mouse, particularly for office work, Excel and productivity.

Action-ring: overrated or still in 'beta'?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago, because I previously had an MX master 3 at work and since I liked that one I thought let's get the upgrade.. Might be good to mention that workplace was windows and my personal is MacOS primarily, but I wanted the USB-C receiver version, cos let's face it it costs the same and previously I had problems with my BT (on win10) so wanted to have the option to connect without BT). All the regular buttons and the mouse works perfectly on a regular basis, but from time to time in this past month I am having problems with accessing the action ring features. Most of the time when I press it and the options of actions should pop-up nothing happens.. so I have to launch the options+ app and find out what is happening. Sometimes it starts to work right after launching it, sometimes I have to update it (which means quitting all adobe and then updating), and one time I had to ask for logi-support (they were great though, thanks!) But because of these sometimes I think it is just a bit too much trouble for button options I'm still not very comfortable with.. The MX-3 had one single button there and I set it to access screenshot/capture function and that was very neat and efficient (although I remember I had to launch the logi-options reguraly (almost daily), because the mouse forgot I prefer the inverted scrolling.. but after launching it always remembered). Anyway I am not yet positive I chose the right model, I guess I need to use it for longer to find out and see if the future updates will bring some positive change in the accessibility of the action ring.

Very good

The MX Master 4 is hands down the best productivity mouse I’ve used. It’s incredibly comfortable, the MagSpeed scroll wheel is buttery smooth, and the customizable buttons make everyday work much faster. The battery life is excellent, and switching between multiple devices is effortless. Pricey, but absolutely worth it if you spend long hours on your computer.

Pleased with this Logitech mouse. Have tried many different ones over the years and always go back to Logitech, bit more expensive but the product features and quality are better.

Quality product, well designed

Great mouse. The haptic feedback maybe feels fractionally gimmicky, but is not an issue. Build quality is excellent. The extra buttons are useful and not overwhelming. Sideways scroll wheel is superb, as is the excellent implementation of the standard scroll wheel - transitioning from graduated "clicky" scrolling to free-flowing fast scroll intuitively and at a user-controllable speed point. It's a shame that you only get access to the higher DPI resolution by using Options+, as it would be nice to be able to access this without relying on external software, but this is a minor gripe.

Perfect follow on to MX M line

Great upgrade from the MX Master 3, takes some getting used to the change in use of the "thumb button" but works well with the haptic feedback, will be interesting to see how apps begin to make use of this within the Options plugins! Very quiet clicks, fits well in hand and generally great to use.
