About this product
The Dyson V16 Piston Animal is built for homes with pets and long hair, combining serious suction with anti-tangle technology that actually works. It's cordless, runs for up to 70 minutes on a full charge, and deep cleans carpets, hard floors, upholstery and stairs without wrapping hair around the brush. The 900w Hyperdymium motor delivers up to 315 Air Watts of fade-free power, and at 3.4kg, it's manageable for carrying around the house or upstairs.
The dual conical cleaner head adjusts to any surface and spirals hair up to 25 inches long into the bin without tangling. The 1.3L bin compresses dust for up to 30 days between empties, and the CleanCompaktor system wipes it clean. The HEPA filter traps allergens and pet dander. A power boost adds suction, and the motorised floorhead switches between carpets and hard floors. Built-in wand tools include pet, mattress, crevice, upholstery nozzles, dusting brush, and combination floor nozzle. Multi-cyclonic technology and side suction provide edge-to-edge cleaning on carpets, hard floors, upholstery and stairs.

Suction is not powerful like the old Dyson 11 I have not very happy with cleaning leaves lot of thing on the carpet and in the kitchen tiled floor is the same? I think the must be fault on the machine it itself.

Great suction but……
The suction is great on boost but then the battery barely lasts 20 minutes. The vacuum needs emptying frequently and I’m really struggling to remove the wand so that I can do this. It’s a tight connection and the whole vacuum is much heavier than previous models and very awkward to do. Annoyingly none of my old attachments fit this new model so I have had to buy more. Also the filter needs cleaning regularly - again those from previous models don’t fit and the new filters have been out of stock so I can’t use the vacuum while the original one is drying. I may well have to return this since it’s not as great as it’s hyped up to be.

some improvements on previous models like fact you can squish the waste down which increase capacity- however am finding it hard to remove the top unit from the base for emptying.

A welcome change to the v11
This was an upgrade to my v11 whose trigger refused to work anymore. The suction and filtration is far superior and the start/stop button is a great feature. I love the bin capacity and its ease of emptying. I am also hugely impressed with the light on the multi floor head. It highlights the smallest particles of debris. And, the runtime is very good. Overall I am very pleased with the v16 piston. I've deducted x1 star as being vertically challenged, I desperately miss my swan neck adapter and dusting brush especially for high bookcases.

Overall happy with performance
Overall happy with performance. Very lightweight. The emptying is easy and mess free. The handle rubs a bit on my thumb 2nd knuckle, so stuck a pad on case. The suction is good and clever how it adjust for different floor surfaces.

Good but not great
Having had many cordless Dysons over the years, this machine is good but definitely not the best. The suction isn't as good as the V15. I love the light that highlights even the smallest amount of debris, particularly on hard floors. I am disappointed that this hoover doesn't fit on my charging stand that held my V15. Overall I wish that I hadn't upgraded, as the cost outweighs the improvements.

Good product, fit for purpose
I bought this product about 4 weeks ago. It has powerful suction, the runtime is good too. I find it easy to operate but my wife who is 5ft tall finds it too big for her to handle. It needs a little time to work out how to operate it but when you have accomplished this it is acceptable. It is expensive but good value for money and fit for purpose. We bought it as a wet and dry model but found out that extra equipment was necessary to accomplish this at extra cost,
