Disappointing new Dyson

My old Dyson died after many years good service so I decided to replace it with another. Sadly the new one is disappointing. It keeps registering that there is a blockage. It happens often after a few minutes cleaning on a domestic carpet. Trying to find the blockage is very frustrating and it seems that the only solution is to replace the filter. I had to do this twice whilst vacuuming the house( a smallish semi) today

I have had a cordless Dyson since they first came out but but with my new one I find it difficult to disconnect the Lind attachment from the Dyson, I even thought I was going to drop the whole thing while trying very difficult have to wiggle it and try and put it out very frustrating To

Extremely disappointed!

Having had several Dyson cleaners over the years we bought yet another top of the range model to help clean up after two very hairy golden retrievers. Reading the spec everything sounded wonderful. Bigger capacity bin that could be compacted to potentially not need emptying for a month. Anti-tangle for hair. Auto selection for flooring. Etc, etc. 3 bedroom semi with laminate flooring and rugs downstairs. Carpets on stairs and bedrooms. Tiled bathroom. I vacuum twice a week upstairs and can only do bedrooms and landing before message that airway is blocked. Having compacted bin, checked filter I then have to clean the motor head which constantly blocks. On Auto setting it is so hard and heavy to push around and the wand is far to long for me at 5ft 4in tall Can’t use on stairs as the body is too long and heavy to manoeuvre so have to manually brush them. Ground floor vacuumed daily but I have to manually change from auto use on laminate floor to eco use on rugs or get a message airway blocked. Again very heavy and the head is very difficult to manoeuvre. All in all worst purchase ever and a very expensive mistake! Be warned!

Brilliant

Has 3 modes eco auto and boost each has different run times so you can choose what you need for the task. Easy to empty and easy to clean. Suction is clearly good as Id gone over the rug several times on auto then when put it on boost it pulled even more dust out from deep within. I have 3 pets so there is generally a lot of malting and dust can build up quickly. After the first day of use I felt the general air quality of our home was better. The easy release makes it easier to change the heads on the extended pole. Is surprisingly quiet compared to other models.

I’ve had a few weeks with this v16 and I’ve been conflicted about whether to write a review. I’ve not had any other hoover than a Dyson since they made their first upright. For the past (roughly) 10ish years I’ve had their cordless hoovers. As sad as it is to say, when I was forced to buy a new hoover I was quite excited to get a new Dyson. Unfortunately, I’m actually disappointed with it, which I didn’t think I’d ever say about a Dyson hoover. They should not have put this light on the head, now I can see that hoover is pushing dirt behind the head and not sucking it up. I have to do multiple (multiple) passes to clean up lightest bits on the floor, yes I purposely repeated that. Compared to my last Dyson, the head on the v16 is NOT designed for hard floor. It’s really quite good on carpet, but then again, Dyson created another problem. There is an inch right in the centre of the head that doesn’t suck up anything. So now it takes twice as long to hoover the floor because I have to go back over this inch the head has missed right in the middle of the line you just hoovered. It is actually quite annoying. I don’t know how to best summarise my review. So I’ll just say this. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn’t have bought this hoover. This anti tangle head creates more problems than it solves. They really should have provided a seperate hard floor attachment. The all in one head solution is simply not good. I can’t put it any other way. Just a side note for Dyson, this hoover seems to get regularly confused when hoovering hard floor. It keeps switching to carpet mode then eventually back. It might have been helpful to be able to manually select between carpet and hard floor.
