My last Casio Solar has never missed a beat in 15 years, but the glass eventually got too scratched. This is a great replacement and once you’ve sorted the time zone/function buttons (good videos on YouTube) and instruction book isn’t too bad. It’s a great watch. Good value at Argos price.

Great watch
Perfect watch solar battery so don't worry about changing battery every year. Good for someone who lives active.

Not Worth the Faff!
Bought as a replacement for my basic analogue Casio, because the strap broke. Cost more than twice as much to get the solar function, a digital window and illumination, which I quite fancied. However, the solar function means the watch face should be kept exposed to light as much as possible, and in winter that will be difficult. The digital display is so small it needs magnifying glasses and the illumination is only of the digital window so it does not illuminate the main face. The digital display doesn't show day and date together, just date, month and seconds, or day only, and as far as the world time function is concerned, it's just too much faff to be worth bothering. I have returned it and got a refund (Thanks Argos), then bought another basic analogue model.

Great watch
I bought this for my 8 year old son, who is very excited to have it. He wanted something waterproof (it's 100m, so fine for swimming etc) and analog rather than digital. Having a digital display as well, for day of the week/date/time etc is very handy, and it's solar powered too. It's also nice to have most of the numbers, and we like the look of it. The only slight downside is that it seems rather large on his wrist, but he'll grow, and hopefully it will last him a long time. It looks good on my wrist - a better size. It feels very light and plasticky, as do many Casio watches, but still reasonably substantial. Before that he was wearing an MQ24, which fit him well and I really liked, but eventually its strap broke and he really wanted something he could swim with, so hopefully this will survive better. This one I'm reviewing doesn't feel *quite* as substantial (strap, case etc) as my G Shock GW-5610, but looks a bit bigger.

I bought this because it looks so good, i like it a lot, it fits well too, easy to set up, it is the least accurate of my casios losing 30 secs a month, this is within the tolerance stated by casio and is my only gripe.

Update on previous version.
Casio have done a "Tough Solar" for many years, this new tough solar is a smart looking update. It only varies in size and weight by a 1 or 2mm and weight by a couple of grams. What I like is it's less plastic looking than the older version and I find it easier to read the time . Once you set the digital time the hour and minute hands set themselves to the digital time . Is it worth the extra over the older tough solar? Depends on how much the better looks and the simplified dial catches your fancy. It's got 5 alarms and a DST adjustment showing on or off. Just click on on and the hands go forward a hour for summer time and turn off and hands go back. The older one is about £15 cheaper at the moment.

Hello David,
The Casio Analogue Display Black Dial Resin Strap Watch does indeed have a countdown timer.
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hey Sleepy,
I can advise that the backlight on this watch will only light up the digital display.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Lock,
Thanks for your query about the Casio Analogue Display Black Dial Resin Strap Watch.
The World Time Mode digitally displays the current time in 48 cities (31 time zones) around the world. The button to operate this is one of the 4 buttons around the edge of the watch. It's the lower left hand one. You press this and your selected World Time city will show on the digital screen. Use of the buttons on sides of the watch allows you to set and also change your preferred world city.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello MAC.
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Casio Analogue Display Black Dial Resin Strap Watch.
The watch does not have a date display. What appears to be “36” is actually the second hand, which is styled in a way that may look like a number on the dial. The “SUN” refers to the day of the week, but there is no numerical date function on this model.
Thank you for using Q & A.
The numbers 36 are the seconds.
So example in the photo..
The time is 10.09 and 36 seconds.
Hello there,
