Easy to use and clean, makes creamy, delicious ice cream without pre-freezing bowl. Quick churning (~40 mins), but small batch size and occasional paddle issues noted.

Chill ingredients for 2 hours beforehand.
I bought this 3 days ago. At first I thought it was going to be a bit of a faff as instead of freezing the bowl you have to mix the ingredients and put them in a bowl in the fridge for 2 hrs, or overnight. Which defeats the reason for buying a machine that you don't have to freeze the bowl. However, once the icecream has been made, which takes about 45 minutes it tastes lovely . And so far I've made three different flavours and added chocolate chips or fudge to two of them. Its a great machine, but I've decided the best way is to mix your ingredients the night before, stick them in the fridge overnight or mix in the day but remember you have to chill it for 2 hrs. So disappointingly you can't suddenly decide you want icecream and make it straight away. The quantity made is enough for 2 small bowls or 1 reasonably large portion. Definitely not enough to serve 4. You'd need to make more batches for that. Its easy to clean. Hope that helps.

Doesn’t work as described
I really wanted this to work as it’s a great price, good size and looks great on the counter top. However it just does not do the job. It does not freeze consistently through the ice cream, which means that some ice cream is so hard at the outside of the bucket the paddle gets stuck whilst the rest of the product is still very soft in the centre. In order to then do what cuisinart recommend to deal with this problem (leave it to melt a little, then mix it through and freeze in a freezer), you end up with ice crystals as the product hasn’t been churned properly. I also used a metal spoon to remove this frozen product, causing scratches to the bucket. Nowhere in the instructions does it say not to do this. Cuisinart gave me several ‘tips’ to deal with these problems but none of them are in the advertised description. I’m returning it but they initially say they will have to test it as it’s not faulty so I won’t get a refund. I’m sticking to my guns and saying this isn’t working as advertised. It doesn’t make ice cream fast without several extra steps (pre chilling, post freezing) and that isn’t what I bought from the description. I hate making a fuss but it’s just not good enough. I only tried 3 times on ice cream setting so can’t speak for rest of settings.

Will be taking it back
Bought this four days ago. When making ice cream it is so thick the paddle hardly goes around and the motor sounds like it is really labouring. We have followed the recipe exactly. Pity because otherwise it looks nice.

Great ice-cream maker.
An excellent, well made machine. Brilliant that ingredients do not have to be pre-frozen . Perfect ice-cream made on 40 minutes or less. The only downside would be the quantity made in each batch, but I do like a lot!

Good results
I've had the machine under a week and have tried the three example recipes in the instructions and a more complicated one using eggs. Results are good - certainly better than supermarket products. The machine looks good, and isn't as noisy as I thought it might be.

Hello DaveK,
Cusinart 950ml Freeze Ease Ice Cream Maker:
The Cuisinart 950ml Freeze Ease Ice Cream Maker is made up of a self-freezing bowl that is typically plastic. This bowl is designed to maintain low temperatures for effective freezing, ensuring that your ice cream mixture reaches the right temperature quickly. The bowl is lined with a special gel that freezes when placed in a freezer for about 24 hours, which is crucial for the proper freezing of the mixture.
I hope this has answered your question,
