Singer sewing machine
I bought this a couple of weeks ago to replace a singer sewing machine I’ve had for over 45 years, ( I didn’t use it daily) but regularly. I’m hoping this one gives me the same, although in that case it will outlive me as I’m in my early seventies, I’ve only tried it once at the moment but it seems ok at the time of trying it out. I had my eye on a more basic machine but it didn’t have a reverse on it, meaning the garment etc would have to be turned, I also wish I had bought the one with the needle threader on it, but I couldn’t justify paying more for the same machine just with a needle threader on it, so I’ve stocked up on the hand needle threaders. But overall I’m very happy with it.

this machine frills sashes.
argos was the cheapest place on the internet by £20 so i was happy with the price. it’s a good quality modern machine and i’m having lots of fun with it. mending jeans, making fabric doorstops, making alterations. there are some *fantastic* how-to videos on youtube specific to this machine regarding how to wind/load the bobbin and thread the needle. very strong and fast once you’ve got the hang of it. really pleased i bought it.

This model of Singer sewing machine does not have an automatic needle threader.
The model 4423AR does have this function.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Singer 4411AR Heavy Duty Electric Sewing Machine - Grey.
The Singer 4411 Will sew the occasional piece of leather.
HOWEVER, this is only occasional and this model should not be considered for the sole purpose of sewing leather; an industrial or semi-industrial machine would be required.
