"The Halo Ignite 2 does not need to be hardwired to operate. It will work perfectly from either:
The cigarette lighter port, or The A USB power source
It also connects to your smartphone via WiFi. so you can view and download footage directly from the app.
However, to get the full benefits of the camera — especially Parking Mode and **Winter Mode** — we strongly recommend using the **Road Angel Hardwiring Kit (RA7300C). This is the Type-C version designed specifically for the Ignite 2.
So in summary:
Hardwiring is optional
The camera works with normal power sources
Hardwiring unlocks all advanced features"

No, this dashcam does not require a subscription. However, an appropriate Micro SD card must be purchased separately and inserted for this camera to operate.
