Why only 1 star yet bought a replacement !?
Why only 2 stars? The first one was completely not working, indeed it started to get hot and plastic smell. It was clearly new alright (ie not one that had been out of the box & retd.) Took it back and the lady at the argos counter put new batteries but nothing so she refunded. Normally I'd therefore never chance buying a replacement but this was a specific request for a present from a friend who lives abroad. I've tested this replacement (not actually used it to open a tin) & at it's 'buzzing' so fingers crossed, as if it doesn't work there'll be no way to get it back to uk to return it to Argos.

Not easy to use doesn't work on all tin cans no good for elderly people or people with dementia . It's easier to use a traditional can opener

We find that the can opener deals effectively with most standard food cans so there is no reason why it would not open a Fray Bentos one.
