Our bread is too tall for this
I bought this a month ago, but when I unpacked it, realised that our home-made bread os much taller than the active toasting area. I returned it unused.

Worlds slowest toaster?
We bought this after our cheapo toaster died after 5 years or so of daily use, and decided to spend a little bit more. The toaster looks stylish and the tongs seemed like a good idea to deal with the irregular unsliced bread we use. Positives: it does evenly brown the toast, and it looks good Negatives: the tongs are actually essential because there is a lip inside that your toast will get stuck on. So the gadget we thought was a good idea is actually needed to get around a design flaw. The toaster also is incredibly slow to make toast. Finally it doesn't have the very useful ability to push the toast up for inspection to see if it is ready. We've had the toaster for 3-4 months now and will pass it on to someone else and spend a bit more money again to try a Dualit.

Like the wide slots. Only minus is that from cold, bread is a little unevenly toasted - subsequent slices get better!

No it does not have a defrost setting, however you can defrost bread on a low setting.
