takes a bit to remember new functions
Bought this a month ago, so far so good, was a struggle at first because at 66 and recovering from a stroke the instructions are not straight forward, it’s not complicated but then again it’s not simple! Simple was our first microwave 50 years ago, two dials one for power and one for time, you couldn’t do seconds but you could judge it and get close. Our second one had three buttons for multiples of minutes, 10 seconds or seconds, either put the time in and press start for full power or defrost to defrost for the set time. This one has 30 secs full power from the start button, if you want more time in minutes press for the required number of time, 2min = 4 presses of the button, or press microwave then the up/down arrow to set the power and press select then use the up/down arrows to select the time then press start, as I said not complicated but isn’t simple. There are auto cook functions which we haven’t got to grips with yet and a ‘favourites’ menu to set cooking times/power for regularly cooked foods, for now it’s easier to just input the time and power rather than try to remember the process each time.

Yes, you can set the defrost time yourself; by choosing the power level and the time you want to use it for.
There is a quick defrost option too,
The Quick Defrost features enable you to defrost meat, poultry, fish, frozen vegetable and frozen bread.
The defrost time and power level are set automatically.
You simply select the programme and the weight.

I can advise that, no you would not need to reset the microwave clock each time it is unplugged. You would only need to reset the clock on your microwave after you perform a hard reset.
