I've never had a slow cooker before so I wasn't sure what to expect but I love using this and have made quite a few meals with it now. It's quickly becoming a central part of our kitchen and routine. It's easy to use and I like that the cooking pot is ceramic. Only dropped a star as there's no indicator light so there's no visual that it's on but other than that perfect!

I advise that the "high" setting will sear meat, however it would be much faster to sear it beforehand in a frying pan etc and place it into the slow cooker.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Russell Hobbs 7L Matte Black Slow Cooker 27720: ''The pot is safe for up to 160 degrees, but it is advised to not use it in the oven. The oven cooking temperatures are usually much higher than that, starting at 180 degrees on the low end on most recipes. We advise to only use the pot for the designed purpose for temperatures that won't exceed 160 degrees and to not use it in the oven. The inner crockpot is not suitable to be used in the oven or on the hob. The inner pot of the slow cooker should only be used with the slow cooker.''
