About this product
This Helsinki Dining Set is built for smaller homes where space matters. It's a compact table and two chairs that fold away when you're not eating, so the table can double as a shelf or surface along a wall. The chairs tuck inside the table frame, keeping everything neat and out of the way. It's finished in white lacquer, a clean look that works with most kitchen or dining room styles. The drop leaf extension gives you extra table length when guests arrive, then folds back down afterwards.
The table is made from rubberwood, a natural hardwood that handles daily use, with a sturdy frame for stability. The white lacquer finish protects the surface and wipes clean after meals. The chairs fold flat and store neatly inside the table when not needed, so you won't lose floor space. The integral extension pulls out easily and locks in place for a stable surface. Some assembly required with two people recommended. A one year guarantee covers manufacturing defects.

Damaged
I bought this last month it came damaged and been a lengthy process to get it sent back

Poor quality
Underwhelmed considering the price. The back panel looks like it’s been secured by a blind Elephant and the 2 support blocks/stops (?) were found cracked/unstuck on unboxing. This means that when lifting the table top up the shelf tilts and the support leg dowel ‘pops out’ of place every time. Extremely disappointed and wouldn’t recommend.

Great, neat and elegant addition to any home
I bought this last September for my son’s small flat, it is elegant, neat and compact and is easy to put away so small space can be utilised. I bought it in grey as the colour is matching everything at the moment, it is of great quality and the chairs are comfortable for short periods .my son loves it as well and had his girlfriend round for romantic dinners.

Great piece of furniture
It arrived already assembled and well packed. It fits perfectly in my small living room. When open is large enough for placing dinner plates, drinks, bread and more. When closed it matches the white wall against it and has a shelf to place an ornament I use it ef to place salt and pepper and other small dining accessories. Chairs are sturdy hold my back at the right place and they have on one side a screw to press which allows the chair to be closed and placed under the table.

The Julian Bowen Helsinki Compact Folding Table & 2 Chair -White comes fully assembled and does not contain any castors. Were castors to be added as a modification then please bear in mind that this may invalidate the warranty.

It still says no assembly required in the description - im glad I checked here as I was going to buy as I wouldnt be able to assemble.
Further down is says assembly required 2 people so it has not been entirely amended in the description

It can be free standing, it would seem to be quite stable, however, the style of the table being flat backed It looks better against the wall
