The Sony ULT Field 3 is a portable Bluetooth speaker built for taking your music with you, whether that's to the beach, the park, or just from room to room. With 2 internal speakers and a dedicated ULT POWER SOUND button that boosts bass depth and sound pressure when you want extra punch, it delivers dynamic audio that feels bigger than its compact size suggests. The removable shoulder strap makes carrying easy, and you can stand it upright or lay it horizontally depending on your space.
It's rugged, waterproof, dustproof and shockproof, so outdoor adventures won't faze it. The rechargeable battery keeps music going for extended sessions, and a 7-band EQ via the Sound Connect app lets you tweak sound to your taste. Bluetooth pairs easily with your phone, covering 20Hz-20000Hz for rich audio across highs and lows. It includes a USB cable and rechargeable battery, plus a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee. No charging adaptor is supplied, so you'll need one outputting between 2.5W and 27W.

Awesome Sony with big Bass and crisp sound
Amazing sound and fantastic bass. Usual legendary Sony build quality with a clever design where the strap attachments can be hidden in the case. Bluetooth connection is fast and flawless. The speaker is impressive looking with interesting ULT button. Highly recommend this Sony speaker, I've tried many others and this is far superior. The battery life and portability is awesome and the fact that it's also waterproof extremely useful.

Surprisingly rich, detailed, natural sound !!
Have tried a few bluetooth speakers over the years and never been impressed - Sony had a summer deal on this model, so thought I'd try again. It's never going to compare to listening to a hifi product, but very pleasantly surprised with the quality here. It's very well built and heavy - straight out of the box with ULT on, the Ult 3 gives a very good, rich, highly detailed sound - too many untis now are either bass heavy or have no bass at all - the Sony has ample bass (in no way wallowing or over powering) but it is the vocals and detail that set this speaker apart from the competition. Vocals are very natural and there is huge amounts of crisp detail here ... absolutely no eq'ing required. I don't listen at very loud levels, but this unit will ge loud without any strain, but the sound does tend to harden up if you go too loud .... hardly surprising really, its a relatively small unit ! I'm delighted with the ULT 3 and can thoroughly recommend it ..... and great Sony product in our house :)

Sounds great but poor documentation and has a mic
So this is really a 5 star product all but for just a couple of minor niggles : documentation and instructions are awful; only after registration do you get an email with how to access all the features and as for specs some tiny writing on the bottom of the box about battery life is about as good as it gets but the key thing is this is supposed to be a speaker so why have a microphone... ostensibly its for hands free calls but personally I don't like that privacy inclusion one little bit. Other than that it sounds amazing for its size and for background music on a beach, bbq, or dinner party its just right. Okay its not hifi but for a tiny portable device it really is remarkable.

No, the SRS-ULT30 doesn't have a random and repeat setting, as it plays what is being transferred from the connected device. However, you can start or pause music playback, and skip to the beginning of the previous, current, or next music track by following the steps here:

This is purely a Bluetooth speaker, so it'll play through whatever is transmitted via Bluetooth. If you're using your phone then you can set music to repeat or shuffle from the app you're steaming to the speaker.
