Worth the price
The Nintendo Switch 2 is a great upgrade and feels faster and smoother straight away. Games load quicker, look better on the TV, and still run great in handheld mode. It’s really nice being able to play most of your old Switch games on it, so you don’t have to start from scratch. The controllers feel comfortable and it’s easy to pick up and play, whether you’re gaming alone or with friends and family. It does cost more than the original, but the improved performance makes it worth it.

So much better
What a great improvement over Switch 1. Everything is better and it feels like a quality product now, not just a toy. I can't wait for all the games releasing over the next 12 months.

A brilliant upgrade from original!
I bought this for my son’s 9th birthday and he absolutely loves it! It is much bigger than the original Nintendo switch and the graphics are brilliant. What is even better is that he can still play his games from his old Switch so I haven’t had to spend lots of money on replacing games that he loves. I ordered it from Argos and collected from the store. It was a quick and easy transaction and made the whole process stressful (especially as I had left it extremely last minute!)

Hello Jay1996,
I can advise the following for the Nintendo Switch 2 Console - Black:
Yes, the switch 2 is backwards compatible with switch 1 games.
Thanks for using Q & A.
Hi Kelly,
The Nintendo Switch 2 Console - Black does not include an SD card
Thanks for using Q&A
Both the original switch and switch 2 connect to the tv using HDMI, so in that sense they are the same.
However there are some technical differences so the cables themselves are not interchangeable.
Hello Gill
I can advise the following for: Nintendo Switch 2 Console - Black
No, the TV connections for the Nintendo Switch 2 are not the same as the original Switch.
Thanks for using Q&A
Yes, if you own a digital copy of a switch 1 game then you can download it on switch 2 by logging in on the same account.
You can also do a 1-time transfer of all your currently downloaded games and save data from the switch 1 to 2.
Note that as per Nintendos help pages there are a handful ofnswitch 1 games which do not work on switch 2. There are also some which cannot have their save data transferred from one console to another, but the game itself can be transferred.
Hello,
Nintendo Switch 2 Console - Black:
Yes, this would be possible.
Please see further information on this below:
Switch 1 To Switch 2 System Transfer:
To perform a full system transfer, you'll need the following:
-An original Nintendo Switch
-A new Nintendo Switch 2
-A Nintendo Account in which the same user is linked across the original Switch and the Switch 2
-A wi-fi internet connection.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Jen.
Nintendo Switch 2 Console - Black:
Yes, you can insert and play your existing physical games on the new console. Most titles will work without issue, though a small number may require updates or might not be fully compatible due to specific accessory requirements.
Thank you for using Q&A.
The Switch 2s screen is slightly bigger, and the JoyCons are updated, and can be used on a surface as mice! The display is now 1080p and supports 120hz, so itll be much smoother to play on. While docked, you can play at up to 4k resolution at 60hz, which is a huge visual upgrade if you have a TV or Monitor that can take advantage of it. Itll also just generally be faster as a result of the various hardware upgrades. The battery can be ever so slightly worse than the Switch 1 as a result.
Hello MeWe,
I can advise the following for the Nintendo Switch 2 Console - Black:
This has upgraded internals, JoyCons, Display and form factor. There isn't enough space on here to post all the differences but this still runs the same OS as before. It would be more powerful than the original switch.
Thanks for using Q & A.
Yes, you can play nintendo switch 1 titles on switch 2! A small fraction of games arent 100 all compatible but none of those include the biggest titles like Pokemon or Mario
You can use the same Cartridge as the switch 1 its backwards compatible with most games, you can check Nintendos website for further details of which games but 90 percent works Ive had no issues so far.
Yes, Switch 1 cartridges will work in the Switch 2
Hello Mum of a gamer kid,

Thanks for using Q & A.
Yes. The Switch 2 is compatible with most Switch 1 games both physical and digital. Switch 2 might even improve the performance of Switch 1 games.
