Great device but games too expensive
The Nintendo switch 2 is a perfect piece of equipment but there's hardly anything to play and Nintendo games are too expensive any third party game is acceptable.

Good console
Ordering through Argos was quick and easy, Switch 2 is great nice colours, frame-rate, and much better sound than the previous system. Only concern is whether or not the joycons will hold up, they don’t feel the most sturdy to use when holding at an angle. Feels a lot better to hold and play as well. I like the matte sort of finish on the console. Happy the dock comes with an ethernet port as well.

Incredible upgrade!
The new console is absolutely amazing. The resolution and framerate are a massive step up from the original, making games look stunning and play incredibly smoothly. The new user interface is snappy and responsive. I'm also really impressed with the improved connectivity—Wi-Fi downloads are lightning fast and the controllers never drop. Finally, backward compatibility with my old Switch games works flawlessly. Highly recommended!

Good console but take more time to consider
As a switch 1 owner Im a little dissapointed. Im not sure what I was expecting. (I will add the disclaimer that I have only had the console a short while, Im not a professional reviewer or anything so please excuse the messieness) Points to note: Controllers Stand& Screen, Apps and home screen Thoughts CONTROLLERS: The mouse functionality is a nice to have but feels like a bit of a novelty over using an actual mouse which is a more ergonomic soloution. Spealing of ergonomics the buttons are larger but other than that original ergonomic complaints have not changed much so aditional grips would need purchasing if that was a concern I suppose this could be a benefit if you had specific ergonomic requirements. Im also not sure what issue the snap to connect controllers was trying to solve, I doubt it would change the cost of parts much, I feel it may be less secure than the rails; should the connector fail or be accidentally released while holding onto the controller the console might drop to the floor a whole lot faster than the rails too. You still have to line the controllers up so its not like they change the amount of effort required by any significant difference. STAND AND SCREEN: I love the new stand Its a lot nicer than the switch 1 variations I never got the oled as I was waiting for the switch 2 so I cant speak for that. I like its adjustability so hopefully it stands the test of time. Its nice to have the bigger screen. APPS AND HOME SCREEN: Theres a few new functionalities I wont use on the home screen i have not really explored much, some people may like them I dont really care. I also dont care about all the camera and chat stuff I have a phone for that. There are apps that worked on the switch one that dont work on the switch 2, but only a few; cant be helped. One of them was free anyway do your research and check if you think this could be an issue. There is a somewhat wide range of game choices exclusive to the switch 2; but because they are so diverse in style and topics I feel it doesn't really cater to one specific audience at any given time. After spending quite a bit on exclusive games I would not have usually picked in hopes of justifying my purchase, I realise I should have waited regardless of fears of cost increases. It could be a coincidence but despite no attempts to connect my switch one controllers to my new console they seem to be getting confused and not connecting as smoothly to my switch one console anymore. THOUGHTS I urge anyone getting the console to take a bit more time to think why they are getting it especially if they already have a console. It may be worth waiting a bit longer. Its still a decent console and a worthy sucessor of the switch one I just feel it didnt really add anything to my life at this point in time.

Both the original switch and switch 2 connect to the tv using HDMI, so in that sense they are the same.
However there are some technical differences so the cables themselves are not interchangeable.

No, the TV connections for the Nintendo Switch 2 are not the same as the original Switch.

Yes, if you own a digital copy of a switch 1 game then you can download it on switch 2 by logging in on the same account.
You can also do a 1-time transfer of all your currently downloaded games and save data from the switch 1 to 2.
Note that as per Nintendos help pages there are a handful ofnswitch 1 games which do not work on switch 2. There are also some which cannot have their save data transferred from one console to another, but the game itself can be transferred.
