A clear winner
I have been using this printer for about a month and I am very impressed with its performance. After being a HP customer for over 20 years, I was fed up of paying extortionate prices for toner cartridges. My HP printer would only function with genuine HP toners. I looked at the alternatives out there and after carefully reviewing all the printers in this price bracket I decided to purchase this Brother printer. Part of the reason is that non genuine cartridges can be used, although the Brother ones are quite reasonable. I am glad I have switched to Brother.

Excellent laser printer for monochrome printing
Sick of head cleaning on inkjet printers and only require monochrome. This printer was easy to setup and gives a good solid black type. The bonus no more head cleaning wasting all that ink. Would I recommend,definitely. Brother as a good name.

Not a good experience
I bought this printer functions are good but it doesnt work as shown in description. It says on description it will print approx 700 sheets with the toner but hardly printed 100 sheets. I am very disappointed. no recommandation.

No manual and misleading USB description
My previous printer had a USB port to insert a USB, despite the description saying it has a USB port, you actually have to buy a lead to connect from the printer to your laptop and then scan by email. Also no manual, when you go to online to select manual, no manual exists for this model number

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Brother MFC-L2800DW Wireless Mono Laser Printer: Cardstock is not mentioned as a supported media type.
This supports Plain Paper, Thin Paper, Recycled Paper, Thick Paper from main Paper Tray up to 163gsm.
Also supports Plain Paper, Thin Paper, Thick Paper, Thicker Paper, Recycled Paper, Bond, Label, Envelope, Env.Thin, Env.Thick through Manual Feed Slot up to 230gsm but that would be one sheet at a time only.
