Jones clocks Islington mantel clock - sage
Bought this clock to replace my old grey mantel clock as I wanted a change from drab grey and I had had my old clock for a few years, got sick looking at it lol , this clock is taller and more modern looking than my old one, it is the same colour as the walls in my hallway which is nice , silent ticking , well and securely packed and promptly delivered by Argos , good price for it too , love it ! Thanks 🙏

Well made pretty clock
Bought this a month ago. Very pleased with it. Well made wood effect, no rough edges and pretty sage colour. Thought the numbers might look too big but they're just right. Looks very nice on my narrow mantelpiece.

Hello Deeks,
Re: Jones Clocks Islington Mantel Clock - Sage
Yes, there is a cover over the battery unit.
Thank you for using Q & A.
Hello Ste,
The supplier has advised the following for the Jones Clocks Islington Mantel Clock - Sage:
“ We understand that the volume of the tick can be a factor in the enjoyment and utility of your clock, and we appreciate the opportunity to provide some insight into this matter.
The ticking sound you will experiencing is a characteristic of quartz clocks, which can indeed vary in volume. This variation is due to several factors, including different brands of movements, the design of the clock case, and the materials used in construction.
These elements can influence how the sound is produced and perceived.
Heavier hands require more energy to move, potentially leading to a louder tick.
Longer hands exert more force on the movement, which can affect the sound.
The composition of the clock and its case can amplify or dampen the sound. For example, metal cases might echo the ticking more than wooden or plastic ones. Additionally the surroundings – for instance the amount of soft furnishing in a room, and the amount of background noise will affect how the tick is perceived. Additionally, perception of the tick varies person to person, and the same clock in the same room at the same time may be perceived as too quiet / too loud by someone and just right by a second person. ”
Thanks for using Q&A.
