"TRIM" UNTIL YOUR HEARTS CONTENT
Great product and well worth the money- it does what is states on the box and could not fault at all. Make sure you use an extrension reel as you always run out of lead when you get to the bottom of the garden. Overall 10/10 and would highly recommed.

Great product
Great product for trimming weeds and garden edges. The telescopic pole makes it easy to store if space is an issue, and the performance is fantastic. Ideal for anybody with a small to medium sized garden.

Excellent Grass Strimmer
We bought the Spear and Jackson strimmer to trim a small area of grass. However it was very uneven and the height of the grass was quite high. We had no problem trimming it down to a low level without any difficulty.

Grass Trimmer - easy to use
.This was bought to replace a damaged strimmer. The sound level of this Spear & Jackson strimmer is much lower than my previous unit. I have now used it twice and quickly got used to the ease of handling.

Bought a few weeks ago, was disappointed with the height. Not suitable for tall people

Could be better
Once I'd worked out how to put it all together it's a great strimmer, easy to use. My only criticism is the bottom components are somewhat heavy and it tends to pull downwards and therefore you spend your energy pushing the control handle and pulling grip up in an effort to try and keep the cutting head level with the ground. When you want to do edging you press the button and rotate the handle but the handle only turns 90 degrees. Either there is a fault with this unit or a design flaw as the handle needs to turn 180 degrees so the strimmer can be used to do edging cuts. I am surprised it came with a moulded standard three pin internal plug. As the unit is marked double insulated I was expecting a waterproof two pin male connector (so I could plug it into my extension cable.)

Hi Stu,
The Spear & Jackson 28cm Corded Grass Trimmer - 450W does not have a battery, it is mains operated.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Coral,
The supplier has advised the following for the Spear & Jackson 28cm Corded Grass Trimmer - 450W:
We don't advise for the machine to be used to close to a wall because it can cause the spool to break. It could cause damage to the machine and could also potentially cause bodily harm if anything was to come of the machine as a result of the break.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi MissK,
The Spear & Jackson 28cm Corded Grass Trimmer - 450W, can be used to trim overgrown areas. Depending on the length may be needed to be done in stages.
Thank you for using Q & A
Hello exxie19,
The supplier has advised the following for the Spear & Jackson 28cm Corded Grass Trimmer - 450W:
"We can advise that the trimmer comes supplied with a spool and line fitted and a spare spool complete with line."
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
This unit does not auto line feed as described by the manufacturer. For me and many others the line feed is defective. Although the line feed exists in practice you will be stopping and manually feeding the line. I had this model for a couple of years and it never worked correctly. Also, in the end the line feeder disintegrated and bits flew everywhere taking out a garden ornament. This is a very poor product that is not worth your hard earned cash.
Hi Borealis,
Thanks for your query about the Spear & Jackson 28cm Corded Grass Trimmer - 450W.
Having checked, this does have automatic line feeding. More details can be found in the user instructions here, specifically, pages 16-17, and with some indirect reference to it on other later pages too:
https://documents.4rgos.it/v1/static/7476929_...
I have copied the same info for you here:
"The equipment features a fully automatic dual line system. The lines will automatically elongate every time you turn on the appliance. To support proper line elongation, ensure that the coil has stopped moving completely before turning on the appliance again. The lines are automatically cut to the correct length by the line cutter."
Hope this helps,
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Brissy,

Hi Emma,
The Spear & Jackson 28cm Corded Grass Trimmer - 450W is suitable for cutting weeds but cutting heavier weeds will cause the trimming line to wear faster.
Thanks for using Q&A,
The spools that came with the strimmer worked fine. I havent been able to source a replacement that doesnt shoot line everywhere within seconds of using it. Wish Id never bought it.
