About this product
From Bluesters and Big Banders to Bubblegum and Britpoppers, the sonorous voice of the semi -acoustic has endeared itself to players of varying styles throughout the history of the electrified guitar. This iconic styled Ltd edition, Vintage Union Jack Semi-Acoustic is also equally adept when comping smooth jazz accompaniments as it is singing out single note blues lines, while its chambered body carries the sound of strummed chords all the way to the back row and beyond.
The Maple body with maple top provides resonance, tone and 'correct weight' comfort. The VSA25UJ features Vintage's unique, offset double cutaway evolutionary body shape.

Great guitar
I iwn several guitars including Gubson and Fender. I really liked the look of this guitar so I added it to my collection. I can honestly say it plays brilliantly. Obviously not the build quality of high end guitars but very very playable. Highly recommended

Great Guitar but Protracted Purchase!
Ordered the Vintage Union Jack Semi-Acoustic Electric Guitar c/w Union Jack guitar strap on 03/03/2026. Received a "collection ready" email on 06/03/2026 and duly collected from my local Billingham Argos on Sunday 08/03/2026. Took the item home, and on subsequent unpackaging found that the "inclusive" guitar strap was missing. I immediately telephoned Argos customer support and, after ignoring exhaustive & annoying web-centric diversions and recommendations, I eventually got to speak with an Argos representative. She informed me that the furnishing of a replacement guitar strap was not possible, and that the only recourse was for me to physically return the item to Billingham Argos. Following this directive, I duly returned the guitar to Billingham Argos where a member of staff informed me that, as specific spare guitar straps where unavailable, the best/only solution would be for me to keep hold of my item and then return with it the following day once in receipt of a text message confirming to me that a replacement guitar was ready for exchange. So (Monday 09/03/2026) I consequently returned to Billingham Argos only to discover that the "replacement" guitar was also bereft of the itemised guitar strap. I was thus offered and accepted a full refund. However, as very disappointing this was, I was given a crumb if hope by Argos employee Pauline who, while not promising a positive outcome, said that she would do her best to obtain the missing strap, and call me if successful. Fully expecting to never again hear from Pauline, I thought that it might be mutually beneficial to email a "heads up" to JHS (the manufacturer/distributor/supplier of Vintage brand guitars) to inform them of this supply issue and who, to their credit, quickly responded with a promise to both investigate and update me of any resultant findings. Now, while to date no such resultant findings have been forthcoming, I did subsequently get a genuinely unexpected 'phone call from Pauline (Wednesday 17/03/2026) informing me that her quest to hunt down this elusive strap had proven successful. I consequently went back same day and re-purchased the guitar. Yay! The guitar? Impeccable build quality,. Perfect, blemish-free paint job & finish. Plays beautifully straight out of the box with no adjustments required. Sounds great, the volume & tone controls (pots) are pleasantly responsive, and the (unbranded) pickups definitely don't disappoint. One caveat, however, is that the control knobs themselves have been set far too high from the body surface. The bridge volume control, for example, hovers at a whopping 6mm while the remainder are about 4mm. As with all my other guitars (including 8 various Vintage models) the normal clearance is rarely more than 1mm, and while this clearance is technically adjustable, it is notoriously difficult to execute on this and other similar semi-acoustic models. In consequence, as such work is the domain of an experienced technician, thus rendering it definately above my pay grade, I'm going to have to live with it. Beautiful instrument nonetheless, well worth both the asking price and the hoops I had to jump through to eventually get it.

Did not know what to expect but the guitar plays really well straight out of the box and the paint job is great. Looks to be worth more than the asking price.

Excellent Guitar
Wanted a semi acoustic, to experiment with, and this guitar has been no disappointment. Needed a little tuning to begin with but was playing virtually straight out of the box. It's a very nice looking guitar and a joy to play. Cannot recommend it high enough. Would recommend a decent gig bag to protect your investment.

Very different to the Epiphone version, physical and visually. But it is unique in its own way and a beautiful looking guitar that plays well and sounds amazing. I own a few epiphone semi-hollows and this vintage semi-hollow is as good as the more expensive guitars i own. I was playing oasis and guns n roses with it hooked up to my boss me-80 effects pedal and output to a pa set up, it was loud, packed a punch. Sounded great. Im sure the neighbours agree!
