Battery flat after your car's been sitting for weeks? The Ring Automotive smart charger handles 6V and 12V batteries, including lithium-ion, for cars, motorcycles and caravans. Its nine-stage charging cycle protects your battery, while one-touch operation keeps it simple. A clear display shows progress, and you can leave it connected safely with built-in polarity and short circuit protection. Crocodile clips reach easily, plus a hanging hook and o-ring connectors mean no battery disconnection. Weather-resistant IP65 design lets you use it in damp garages.
The SMARTCHARGE 4 works with petrol and diesel engines up to 2000cc and handles stopstart batteries too. Suitable for batteries with a capacity of 12Ah. Overload protection keeps things safe during use. The 1.5m lead gives you enough length to reach from a socket to the battery. Compact design stores easily on a shelf or in the boot. Ideal for keeping your battery topped up over winter or when the vehicle's not being used regularly.

Had to buy this urgently as our car battery kept going low and our old battery charger which we had had for years was not doing anything. Realised why when I had to call the services out to help and was told the old battery was not suitable for newer cars. So at least this one works but not a quick charger you have to be left on overnight to get a full charge. But its a small convenient size to have if you need to carry it around although you do need to plug into the mains for it to work. And easy to use once you got it set up for a car or motorbike.

I have charged a couple of car 12v batteries, and it worked very well. Easy to use, it showed me the charging voltage, and the battery voltage after it finished charging. It also easy the store away.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Ring Smartcharge4 6/12v Smart Battery Charger: it isn’t necessary to disconnect the battery. 99.9% of end users charge the battery in situ without disconnecting it from the car.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Ring Smartcharge4 6/12v Smart Battery Charger.
The winter mode raises the charging voltage in order to compensate for sluggish battery chemistry when it is cold.
The voltage is increased by 200mV.
If there is ice or snow or frost on the ground then use the winter mode.
In addition if you have an AGM battery then also use the winter mode, at all times of the year irrespective of the weather
