The SMARTCHARGE 4 from Ring Automotive features an efficient nine-stage charging cycle and supports 6V and 12V batteries including Lithium-Ion. Its compact design, clear display, and intelligent one-touch operation make it ideal for maintaining cars, motorcycles, and caravans. Built with safety in mind, it includes polarity and short circuit protection and an IP65 weather-resistant design. Easy-to-use crocodile clips, a hanging hook, and o-ring connectors provide convenience without detaching the battery.

Not as smart
Does not give exact voltage when connected. Why do we need to select the mode if it is a smart charger? Does not indicate clearly that it is charging. The ability to unplug the connectors in-line is a good idea and the motorcycle connectors are too!

My minibus has a habit of running down the battery when not used for a while, so often have to charge up. Old charger packed in. Needed one in a hurry, found this I could pick up that day. Actually for a 'rush' purchase, I'm very pleased with my choice. Seems to work properly. Easy enough to use. The instruction booklet isn't really much use, but basically 'connect it' and off you go

Cheap and charges the battery efficiently
It charges well and efficiently holding charge and doesn’t drain the electricity while doing so, efficient with its charging doesn’t take to long and doesn’t charge the battery to quickly meaning no damage occurs to battery itself, would 100% recommend

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Ring 6V/12V 4 Amp Smart Car Battery Charger: the minimum voltage battery it can charge is 3 Volts. Less than this and it regards the battery as un-chargeable.
