DO NOT BUY THIS IRON!! I bought in early summer and it's the worst iron I have ever had. Why:- 1. You can't see how much water is in the tank. The tank is smoky plastic! 2. At night you can't see the dots which tell you how hot it is. 3.When you open the flap of the water tank it stinks of damp! All your clothes are tainted by it. Don't waste your money.

A serious problem You Can't See Heat Dial Markings
I have only used my iron twice since purchasing it and when heating is on 2 dots it is fine for delicate items and 3 dots for cottons. The only negative part of the iron I have found is the dial with 1, 2 and 3 dots on it. The dial is very dark and the dots are imprinted into the dial but are also dark so you cannot see them. This can be disastrous if you put the heating on the wrong heat. I am having to have a torch to check the temperature dial. I do feel Russell Hobbs have not thought of the safety aspect of this. If the temperature dial dots could be seen easily to read I would have given it 5*. As this is quite a serious problem are Russell Hobbs going to suggest how customers can see the dots without having to look with a torch. A few days later I had an email from Sainsbury's safety department, as they had seen my review on here about the problem with the temperature dial. I was told to stop using the iron immediately and to return it to Argos asap which I did and they immediately gave me a full refund. Well done Sainsburys for conting me over this serious fault.

Poor design
I purchased this a couple of weeks ago. Ok for ironing but the water chamber doesn’t hold a lot of water and need to refill regularly. Also the handle isn’t big enough as when holding the iron, your hand catches on the temperature dial.

Bought this last week. My husband put water in it to see what it was like. It is very heavy, produces too much steam and the little dots for heat indication are very difficult to see. Took it back to Argos but they wouldn't change it for a lighter model of the same make
